NFL Season 2017, Week 17: New York Jets at New England Patriots on Sunday, December 31, 1:00 PM, Gillette Stadium

The New England Patriots made maximum use of their home advantage to win against the New York Jets in their most recent playoff. The team won with a sterling 26-6. Quarterback Bryce Petty was 19 of 36 for 232 yards and only fumble once. However, his team quickly recovered the ball. On the other hand, RB Bilal Powell managed to rush 13 times for 46 yards but only had a single reception for 10 yards. QB Tom Brady was 18 of 37 for 190 yards, threw 2 touchdowns and committed no turnovers while WR Brandin Cooks led his team to receiving yards with a stellar 79 and caught one touchdown pass. RB, on the other hand, led his team in receptions and carries, added a 2nd score right through the air, and rushed for a touchdown.

By halftime, the New England Patriots had a lead of 21 to 3 over the Jets while the second half wasn’t any different. The two teams exchanged field goals and punts before Eric Lee recorded the safety that ensured the 26-6 win for the Patriots. Of particular note was the Patriot’s defense as linemen Malcolm Brown and Lawrence Guy were impenetrable – with only some minor errors from the linebackers. Washington Redskins at New York

NFL Season 2017, Week 16: New York Jets vs Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, December 24, 1:00 PM, MetLife Stadium

The Sunday game between the Los Angeles Chargers and the New York Jets was a display of defensive tactics on both teams. As a result, there were no goals in the first and the fourth quarters. The Los Angeles chargers took an early lead in the econ quarter when Gates made 3-yard touchdown involving 12-play and 71-yard drive. The score placed the Los Angeles Chargers on a 7-0 lead. The New York Jets came by an opportunity in the third quarter when Los Angele’s Nick Ross was full right on a 47-yard shot. The Jets through Powell got 7 points from a long touchdown run.

However, the Los Angeles Chargers retained their lead quickly some few minutes after. Gordon made 1-yard run that saw him hit the hole and push the goal line with a second and third effort. At this point, the chargers were seven points clear of the jets with a score of 14-7. The jest would have closed the gap with the roughing-the-passer techniques of Joey Bosa. However, with Petty’s heave to Robby Anderson in the end, minutes made the Jets efforts futile. Therefore, the game needed 14-7 in favor of the Los Angeles Chargers.

NFL Season 2017, Week 15: New York Jets at New Orleans Saints on Sunday, December 17, 1:00 PM, Mercedes-Benz Superdome

The New York Jets squared off against the New Orleans Saints in a highly competed match that saw the Saints defeat the Jets 31-19. One of the most outstanding performances of the match was when Drew Brees even threw two touchdown passes as well as the 4-yard slant to Michael Thomas with just 7:39 left. The New Orleans was on top of their game even overcoming three turnovers to defeat the Ney York Jets. This victory retained the Saint first position in the NFC South (10-4). Though the Jets demonstrated a high defensive power they could not garner adequate offense under quarterback Bryce Petty who is a third player who just made his fifth NFL start. In fact Petty ultimately finished 19 of 39 for 179 yards, with two interceptions and scoring one touchdown.

On the other hand, Chandler Catanzaro’s 29-yard field goal played a big role in pulling the Jets within seven points three plays later. An intense moment in the match was when Brandon Coleman, who is a wide receiver, drove the ball away during the second half which ended the Saint’s scoring opportunities. The Saints performed incredibly even without some key players such as RG Larry Warford and TE Michael Hoomanawanui who suffered concussions during the first half and this shows that the Saints is a strong team. We can only wait to see if the Jets will get a chance to redeem themselves by being victorious in future matches.

NFL Season 2017, Week 14: New York Jets at Denver Broncos on Sunday, December 10, 4:05 PM, Sports Authority Field@Mile High

This was a never expected performance with New York jets fired up for a win while Denver came in with an 8 game losing streak. Denver were cautious of a ninth loss which could have been a repeat of a 1967 history.

Denver had an efficient display of defense against the struggling visitors smashing them 23-0. ”This is the kind of game we expected to play against everyone not just New York” said the outside linebacker Shane ray. He also added that Everybody that we play, we should beat them like this. Period. We just haven’t been able to find that formula.”

The jets were out of luck with their quarterback, josh receiving hard hits and being knocked from the game. A clean shot by Denver’s Shane left him with a broken hand in the third quarter leading to a replacement by Bryce Petty. Petty only completed 2 of 9 for 14 yards.

Injuries suffered by Jets were the running back Elijah McGuire who had an ankle injury, their long snapper Thomas Hennessey who came off with a head injury and Josh McCown.Denver lost Justin Simmons their starting safety to an ankle injury, the inside linebacker Todd who had a head concussion and the second safety Jamal Carter being knocked from the game with a left shoulder injury.

NFL Season 2017, Week 13: New York Jets vs Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, December 03, 1:00 PM, MetLife Stadium

In the week 13 of AFC matchup in NFL actions saw the match between Kansas City Chiefs at New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings at Atlanta Falcons. Subsequently, we will start with the first match. The match between Kansas City Chiefs versus New York Jets ended 38-31 in favor of New York jets. And the main highlight of the match probably went to the losing team, another successive and embarrassing defeat to a team considered a bad team.

While the Kansas City opened the season with a 5-0 and the team harbored the aspirations of the Super Bowl, things don’t look great for them currently. That is for the reason that including their latest loss, they have now lost 6 of their last 7 games and something or a combination of things seems to have gone all wrong. It is a losing streak that Kansa City Chiefs team must be angry with if they have any hope of recovery. Any win for them now will do, even close wins they were famed for last season.

In fact for all their bright promise to the start of the season, the Kansas City Chiefs is now tied for the lead in the AFC West at 6-6. Yes, the division looks that bad. The Kansas city Chiefs truly must deal with the discipline issues facing the team as was exhibited by corner back Marcus Peters, which was not only embarrassing to himself but also the team. The only positive maybe out of the last defeat was that offense play was not the problem.

NFL Season 2017, Week 12: New York Jets vs Carolina Panthers on Sunday, November 26, 1:00 PM, MetLife Stadium

With another 4th quarter collapse, the Jets’ hopes moved from slim to unlikely. Todd experienced 5 losses in the previous 6 matches. The exciting early season of the Jets has gone blink at the moment. With the defeats that the Jets experienced, they have been able to blow the lead in three matches remaining only fifteen minutes. With a clash with the Carolina Panthers, the Jets lost the match at a 35-27. The Jets came up to 20-18 with the 59 second goal from Chandler Catanzaro from a 19-yard into the 4th quarter against the Panthers. While the match continues, there were great signs that the Jets will also loss the game. Austin Seferian-Jenkins has a one-yard touchdown catch on second down. By video review, it appears that the call on the pitch was overruled by the officiating officials.

In the end zone, McCown eventually lost a wide-open to Matt Forte. This made the Jets to settle for the field goal after the occurrence. While momentum appears to mount on the side of the Jets, the Panthers went 3 and out of the game as disaster struck. A fumbled by McCown scooped Luke Kuechly. Wes Horton committed a sack during the process, enabling the ball to fall out of his hand. This rumbled thirty-four yards to the finished end zone for another touchdown.

NFL Season 2017, Week 10: New York Jets at Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, November 12, 1:00 PM, Raymond James Stadium

Tampa Bay Buccaneers pulled out a surprise win against New York Jets, Buccaneers broke a five game lose streak to beat Jets 15-10. A win for the Jets would have taken them to a fifth win securing them the final wild-card spot in the weak AFC, if this wasn’t enough motivation, luck was on their side as Buccaneers were missing their starting quarterback Jameis Winston, his place being filled by Fitzpatrick. They were also missing wide receiver Mike Evans. This surprising loss was a reminder for the Jets that they lacked talent and depth. This was certainly the Jets worst loss of the season.

Some of the highlights of the game had Robby Anderson score for the fourth game he has started, Fitzpatrick who was playing a team he used to play for two seasons ago saw 17 complete passes of his 34 for 187 yards and was intercepted once. Thirty eight year old quarterback, Josh McCown was blamed for several times when Buccaneers pass rusher came right through taking a shot at McCown and was unblocked. Charles Sims, Buccaneers running back celebrated scoring on a 6 yard touchdown pass. The Jets next game sees them host Carolina as Buccaneers travel to Miami.

NFL Season 2017, Week 9: New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills on Thursday, November 02, 8:25 PM, MetLife Stadium

If there was a club that fought so hard in their last Thursday, that team was not Buffalo Bills. The New York Jets helped to stymie the Bills strong race for the AFC East position. The New York Jets regulated the line of action on every side until they had a win of 34-21. This win did not come close in the second half. Four days after Matt Forte complained the New York Jets did not run the ball enough, he ran for two touchdowns. Tyrod Taylor sacked seven times as over amazing defender. In the last two wins, the Bills have scored sixty-four points, but they self-destruct themselves with miscues and turnovers. The Jets came in with a three-game slide and helped to hold a strong defeat on the opponent. Forte has fourteen carried for seventy-seven yards and scored on runs for both five and ten yards.

On nine carries, Bilal Powell exploded with a seventy-four and fifty-one-yard burst. While on the fun, Josh McCown a stronger quarterback had a ten-yard scramble to get the scoring going. Overall, the Jets operated for one hundred and ninety-four yards. On the Jets 2nd touchdown drive, the Bills made a huge mistake. McCown was sacked by Cedric Thornton and later grabbed his face mask. There was a penalty of fifteen yards that later followed a twenty-yard pass to Kearse. A twenty-two yard run from Forte made Anderson beat a double coverage for a twenty-five-yard reception.

NFL Season 2017, Week 8: New York Jets vs Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, October 29, 1:00 PM, MetLife Stadium

The battle between Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets marked the most interesting gameplay last week. In the last week of the faceoff took place between Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets. Atlanta Falcons recorded a victory over New York Jets in the combat that took place between the two on last day. The all-time passing leader of Atlanta Falcons Matt Ryan played a significant role in the victory of Atlanta Falcons over New York Jets. The Battle was very close that it created a lot of tension within the fans of both the teams. Matt Ryan finished 18 of 29 for 254 yards.

This season Atlanta Falcons marked their first victory in this month, which was much needed for getting them 4-3 ahead of New York Jets. Although the Atlanta Falcons had some trouble with the weather, the Falcons managed to provide some defensive moves which led to their victory. What went wrong with New York Jets is that in the second quarter when Matts threw to Devonta Freeman but Jets couldn’t handle the situation which led the game to Atlanta’s victory. While the first battle was not so much in the favor of Atlanta Falcons they did a tough job in the 2nd half that resulted in a victory. Matt’s performance was remarkable and inspiring because of his excellent footwork that turned the game favor to Atlanta Falcons.

NFL Season 2017, Week 7: New York Jets at Miami Dolphins on Sunday, October 22, 1:00 PM, Hard Rock Stadium

The injured Jay Cutler was replaced by Matt Moore and threw 2 touchdown passes in the final twelve minutes to lead the Dolphins to return to victory. This win is the biggest for the Dolphins since last week. For the overachieving Dolphins, rallies are now becoming routine. By erasing a fourteen-point 4th quarter deficit to win the New York Jets at 31-28, the Dolphins pulled off another improbable victory on Sunday. For the Jets, Josh McCown was able to throw 3 touchdowns and a run. The interception of Josh’s in the final minutes was able to set up the victory field goal.

For a pass intended for Jermaine Kearse, Bobby McCain stepped in front to block it. This gave Miami the ball at the New York Jets twenty-seven with thirty-nine seconds remaining. With twenty-two second to go for the Dolphin’s first lead of the match, Cody Parkev kicked a thirty-nine-yard field goal. The remains the 2nd win in a row for the Dolphins at 4-2. The Dolphin’s were able to overcome a seventeen-point deficit in the 2nd half a week ago for an upset win against the Atlanta. When the margin is 7 points or less, they have been able to win twelve matches in a row.

NFL Season 2017, Week 6: New York Jets vs New England Patriots on Sunday, October 15, 1:00 PM, MetLife Stadium

New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, set the record for most regular season wins by a quarterback with his recent 187th win over the New York Jets.Brady was tied at 186 with Peyton Manning and Brett Favre. The Jets would have had four wins in a row but the Patriots held on and got the hard earned 24-17 win cancelling the streak of wins. Following the results the Patriots eclipsed the Jets to go top of the AFC East Coast log. The Jets came from the tunnels blazing scoring first but by the stroke of half time both teams were tied at 14 scores each.

Brady then led the Patriots down the field in the beginning of the second half, going 75 yards and throwing the ball in a 33 yard gap to Rob Gronkowski who made the touch down for the Patriots making the score 21-14.Afterwards, Stephen Gostkowski made it 24 later on in the quarter. Seferian Jenkins had his touchdown cancelled by the referee as he was claimed to have lost control of the ball. Patriots weak defense, ranked last in the NFL at number 32, was manifested again with several errors which the Jets took advantage of trying to sneak the ball behind the touch line. But still, rallying his teammates Brady proved his worth and the patriots hang on to win the game.

NFL Season 2017, Week 5: New York Jets at Cleveland Browns on Sunday, October 08, 1:00 PM, FirstEnergy Stadium

The fifth round of the American Football or NFL League was played. One of those matches played in the fifth round was between Cleveland Browns and New York Jets. This was a very interesting match in which the New York Jets celebrated the victory. The final result was 14-17 for Jets. The New Jork Jets won the Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins team in the third and fourth round while in the first and second round they were defeated by Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills. The Cleveland Browns team in all four rounds defeated by the Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers. Also, the New Jork Jets team’s interactions between these two teams were one of the last four in a row to win the match.

The first quarter ended in a draw with the result 0: 0. The secund quarter was crucial for New Jork Jets because they lead with a score of 0: 3. The key player for Jorks was Catanzaro C. who scored Field Goal. In the third quarter, the score was 7-7, and points for Browns were scored by Touchdown – Pass and Gonzalez Z. NFL Season 2017, Week 4: New York Jets vs Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, October 01, 1:00 PM, MetLife Stadium

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost away to the New York Jets by a score of 23-20. The Jets led by Josh McCown, quarterback, Seferian Jenkins, tight end and Jermaine Kearse, wide receiver were in outstanding form. Chandler Catanzaro’s forty one yard field goal in overtime with twenty eight seconds left on the clock is what lifted the Jets to victory. What followed, after his field goal, was a wild celebration by him and his teammates at the center of the gridiron. Bilal Powell rushed for one hundred and sixty three yards which so happened to be a career high for him. This included a seventy five yard touchdown.

Some huge mistakes made by the Jets led to them blowing away a ten point lead in the fourth quarter. Josh McCown, the New York Jets quarterback, finished with twenty two of thirty one for two hundred and twenty four yards inclusive of an interception pass. The Jaguars were out-gained by the Jets by four hundred and seventy one to three hundred and eleven in total yards. Blake Bortles, the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, was fifteen of thirty five for one hundred and forty yards inclusive of both an interception and touchdown pass. The New York Jets showed outstanding resilience at the end to ensure the win.

NFL Season 2017, Week 3: New York Jets vs Miami Dolphins on Sunday, September 24, 1:00 PM, MetLife Stadium

In the game of Miami Dolphins facing the New York Jets, Jay Cutler looked a bit rusty and inaccurate. His timing and rhythm were off. After his poor performance he got lots of criticism. The Dolphins would have been defeated if not for a lucky touchdown on their final offensive play. The game was kept alive by that touchdown and the Dolphins trail 20-0. Cutler was off target too many times. Because the play was about to expire, Jarvis Landry had to call timeout in the first quarter.

On the other side, the Jets were playing tougher and physical. Jesse Davis was exposed in this game in the second quarter by Demario Davis in the second quarter and in the fourth by Mo Wilkerson. Steve McLendon, a Jets defensive tackle, has managed to beat Pouncey.

This wasn’t a pretty game. Combined, the two teams got 18 penalties for a total of 145 yards. There were also three turnovers. However, despite the fact that this wasn’t a pretty game, the Jets defense was actually quite impressive. However, at the start of the fourth quarter Jets fans started to head to the exits despite being up by 20 points. The team’s first victory this year was witnessed by only a few.

NFL Season 2017, Week 2: New York Jets at Oakland Raiders on Sunday, September 17, 4:05 PM, Oakland Coliseum

The Oakland Raiders have made many improvements over that last few years. Coming into this season, they were one of the teams mentioned who could make some noise in winning the AFC. The New York Jets are in a rebuilding phase currently. The question for them this season is not whether they will challenge for the AFC crown, but rather how competitive will they be. Against the Raiders, that answer came early.

The Raiders dominant offense line set the tone for the day. The kept quarter back Dereck Carr clean all day not allowing a single sack. This allowed Carr the freedom and time to throw three touchdown passes to Michael Crabtree. The offensive line also opened up huge running lanes which facilitated three different Raiders running backs to rush for touchdowns and rack up 180 yards on the ground. One of those backs was Marshawn Lynch who was able to score in his first home game with the team.

The Jets put up little resistance as Oakland was able to score at will and hold them in check offensively. Josh McCown was able to toss two touchdown passes but this was hardly enough to keep up with the Raiders potent attack. The Jets fall to (0-2) after the 42-20 loss to the undefeated Oakland Raiders.

NFL Season 2017, Week 1: New York Jets at Buffalo Bills on Sunday, September 10, 1:00 PM, New Era Field

The match between the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills remained the 113th regular season meeting. The Buffalo won with 59-53. Before getting swept during the 2016 edition, the Buffalo had won 5 in a row. The Buffalo experienced their first loss in their home opener after playing with the New York Jets. The offensive coordinator Greg Roman was fired by then-coach Rex Ryan. This remained a sign of the damage to occur in the future. The New York Jets giggle over having the Buffalo Bills as their opponent for the game.

This is because the Jets have already started to look on 2018 and beyond. If Josh McCown, Matt Forte and Bilal Powell are allowed to play, it will definitely affect the Buffalo Bills. It is important to know that the Jets and Bills will not be moving anywhere during 2017. In fact, both the Jets and the Billa already know this fact and did not voice out. Nevertheless, each team is trying to make the new season start on a platter of gold. This game may simply help any of the teams to win. Any win from both teams will help them have a great minset to start a new season.

NFL Preseason 2017, Week 4: New York Jets vs Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, August 31, 7:00 PM, MetLife Stadium

Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Jets was played on last game day which did not end well for Philadelphia Eagles. Eagles could not do well from the start and had not scored while Jets at least made it through the 1st quarter with scoring 3. In 2nd half both the teams fought well but Jets did well compared to the Eagles and took the quarter scoring 10 while Eagles just made it to 3 points. The 3rd quarter did not end in favor of both the teams and none of the teams could score.

In 4th quarter Eagles showed some strength and scored well but it could not have taken them to victory as Jets were able to score 3 points too and the game ended in favor of New York Jets with a total of 16 points against Eagles’ 10 points. Injuries were witnessed during the game as both the teams were trying hard to grab the game. However this game was pretty much exciting for Jets and their fans as the history of these two teams against each other was one sided because in all the 10 games between Eagles and Jets, the Eagles had defeated the Jets and couldn’t let them win even once but this time Jets got lucky and broke the unlucky chain of defeat for themselves.

NFL Preseason 2017, Week 3: New York Jets at New York Giants on Saturday, August 26, 7:00 PM, MetLife Stadium

The preseason game featuring New York Giants and the Jets ended miserably for the Jets receiving a 32-31 beating from Giants. The game as the score suggests was neck to neck and both games brought out their A-game. The Jets for example almost overcame the first half beating the by Giants 29-3 to almost even score. Bryce, however, managed to outplay Christian Hackenberg denying the Jets the victory having failed to make two- point conversion just 86 seconds before the end.

Giants trick to this victory were good starter in the preseason game week three. Despite the force brought about by this properly calculated move their bragging barely stood when their backups could not sufficiently hold down the Jets.

Eli manning, on the other hand, did not bring in the full force he is known for without his two leading targets Brandon Marshall and Beckham finishing with an interception at 7-of-14 for the 121 yards mark. Even though this was not his best game his team left with a 19-0, the coaching team is however fully aware of how capable he is in presence of his two supporting receivers.

NFL Preseason 2017, Week 2: New York Jets at Detroit Lions on Saturday, August 19, 7:30 PM, Ford Field

The Detroit Lions defeated the New York Jets by a score of 16-6 in Detroit in the second preseason game for both teams. The first quarter was a relatively tame affair, with only a Matt Prater field goal putting Detroit up 3-0. But Detroit manged to get themselves into good field position yet again toward the end of the first quarter, and near the start of the second quarter quarterback Matthew Stafford found Martin Jones Jr. in the end zone to extend the Detroit lead to 10-0. As the clock ticked down toward halftime, Detroit added another Prater field goal to send the teams into the locker room with Detroit up 13-0.

Neither team managed to get on the scoreboard in the 3rd quarter, as both offenses were error prone and ineffective. Detroit rookie backup Jake Rudock threw an interception, matched by an interception from Jets quarterback Bryce Petty. Jets second year quarterback Christian Hackenberg looked ineffective, taking 2 sacks and going 2 for 6 passing the ball. In the fourth quarter, New York finally broke their shutout with a consecutive pair of drives leading to Ross Martin field goals. But that was it for their offense, and a final Matt Prater field goal for Detroit put Detroit up by 10 again, effectively sealing the win for the Lions.

NFL Preseason 2017, Week 1: New York Jets vs Tennessee Titans on Saturday, August 12, 7:30 PM, MetLife Stadium

The 2017 season had started on a good note for the N.Y Jets as they edged a win against Tennessee Titans. The clash between Tennessee Titans and the N.Y Jets ended in a 7-3 defeat in favor of the N.Y Jets. The game was all interesting as many happenings proved beyond doubt that there still high hopes for the Tennessee Titans. Such included the brilliant performance of Kevin Byard. The second year safety sure picked up from where he left off. Their linebackers proved good and all prepped for what is coming for them. Their major concern should be with their offensive players. Their attacks lacked an effective push.

The N.Y Jets had let Christian Heckenberg start up with the starting offensive line but had given way for the reserves sooner. He may need to be allowed to begin with the starters in order to get a fair evaluation due to him. He looked relaxed in the game not that he was exactly inspiring but his outing was a bit okay for someone that has been away from the game for as long as a full year.

The fans were able to see what some of the younger Jets were capable of.
