NFL 2017 Week 17: Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, December 31, 1:00 PM, Lucas Oil Stadium

As the Colts’s coach, Chuck Pagano was aspiring for another victory. On this note, it is important for Chuck to stand by and watch if this will be his final winning match for the club. As the Colts squashed the Houston at 22-13, Marlon Mark was able to run for another while Jacoby Brissett also had one touchdown. With Chuck’s six seasons constant loss, this win was able to consolidate his effort as the head coach.

While the win remains a remarkable moment for Pagano, it may not be able to accomplish his stay in the season in the next football appearances. Since the Colts were removed from the playoffs in the 3rd consistent season, the topic of Pagano has remained critical. On the contract record, Chuck may likely have extra two years to be with the team. The Texans finished last in the AFC South, lost 9 out of their 10 match and six consecutive defeats. With the recent win, the team should not glory on any achievement for the second or first round in 2018. When questioned about the record of Texans, Bill O’Brien the coach replied it is difficult and brutal. Both O’Brien and Pagano have been under fire even while they tried and failed.

NFL 2017 Week 16: Houston Texans vs Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday, December 25, 4:30 PM, NRG Stadium

The Pittsburg Steelers clinched a win when they defeated Houston Texans. The Steelers were never in trouble against the texas as they dominated the game. Pittsburgh beat Texan team and had a 330 yards offense to Texans 227. The Steelers led the first half 20-0. Bell added a 10-yard run late in the third quarter and Juju Schuster made it 34-6 with an 18-yard touch down putting a seal on victory in the fourth quarter. Ben Roethlisberger got to throw a 226-yard and two touchdowns. The Texans DeAndre Hopkins made one of the best touches down catches of the year. He managed to track the ball before it fell out of bounds but still managed to a touch down in the final quarter.

Yates finished just 7 of his 16 passes for the 83 yards with O’Brien ensuring the run as Alfred tried to impress with a 48-yard run on the first play of the second quarter, but the Steelers had a great defense to ensure their victory.Pittsburgh added a touch down on a 1 yard by Roosevelt. Heyward was able to sack Yates three plays. Chris Boswell added a couple of goals in the season to ensure a win for the Steelers.

NFL 2017 Week 15: Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, December 17, 1:00 PM, EverBank Field

The Jacksonville Jaguars destroyed the Houston Texans this past weekend. They won the game 45-7 because they are the hottest team in football. The Texans have no prospects because they have lost Deshaun Watson for the season. They simply could not get going on either offense or defense, and they were not able to stop that very potent offense in Jacksonville. Jacksonville’s defense could be the best ever, and they showed that again by holding Houston to 7 points.

Blake Bortles is playing like a hall of famer at the moment, and he is so good that you have to ignore all the bad seasons he has had in the past. He has turned a corner with this new regime, and he has one of the best running backs in the league in Leonard Fournette. The combination of the two makes them a very powerful force in the AFC, and they will win their division going away. Beating the Texans 45-7 simply proves that the Jags are now winning games they are supposed to win. The Jaguars are definitely going to the playoffs with a lot of momentum, and the Texans are falling on their face without their star quarterback.

NFL 2017 Week 14: Houston Texans vs San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, December 10, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

With Years of struggling with the quarterback position, San Francisco 49ers have finally found their future. Jimmy Garoppolo in his 49ers starts is now 2-0 with his team beating the Texans 26-16.

Jimmy, who was acquired from New England, finished 20 of 33 with 334 yards and a touchdown. Though it was team of youngsters several exceptional performances aided jimmy to his 2-0 included, wing receiver Marquise Goodwin who had 106 yards, running back Carlos Hyde who chipped 78 yards and scored and an overall solid performance on the offense by the team.

Texans receiver, De-Andre Hopkins had a nice performance catching 11 for 149 yards and had two touchdowns. T.J. Yates who came in for Tom Savage who had a concussion in the second quarter, threw for 176 yards plus two touch-downs. Yates had not appeared for a game since 2015 and had been signed after Deshaun Watson’s knee injury last month.

Injuries suffered were Houston’s Kendal Lamm who had a concussion and Tom Savage while the 49ers had their corner-back Akhello Winterspoon out with a knee injury and rookie receiver Victor Bolden with an ankle injury.

NFL 2017 Week 13: Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans on Sunday, December 03, 1:00 PM, Nissan Stadium

Getting you set for the Texans and Titans from music city and coach boy for the Titans. They are 7 in 4 and firmly in the playoff picture but Marcus Mariota already with more interceptions this season than in either of his first two years in the league. Everybody loves Marcus Mariota, I think he is a superstar and waiting but he has regressed a little bit particularly in the turnovers. He came into the season with 45 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. Still hasn’t thrown an interception in the red zone which is really is really good he has digressed a little bit particularly throws down the field.

He had two interceptions on Sunday versus the colts and the accuracy down the field has got to improve. One touchdown to 4 interceptions in the last two games. When you are playing against this Texans defense even without JJ Watt and Whitney merciless, they’re still finding ways to make Jadeveon Clowney kind of move around and you see him attacking the line of scrimmage. I think for the Texans on offense obviously Tom Savage he’s got his work cut out for him but the Anon Jerk Hopkins is the guy.

NFL 2017 Week 12: Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens on Monday, November 27, 8:30 PM, M&T Bank Stadium

It remained the legs of Justin Tucker and the defense to bring a crucial win for the team. This is because the offense of the Ravens struggled to get the ball across and almost every time gets booed by the crowd when playing against the Texans. This remains the scenario for the Ravens at the moment in the NFL games. The Ravens were able to orchestrate two turnovers in the closing five minutes with the match undecisive. This helped the Ravens maintained a 23-16 win over the Houston Texans. When Terrell Suggs of the Ravens beat Kendal Lamm the Texans trained by 4 points.

The quarterback Tom Savage was also sacked with C.J during the process. To make a seven point game, Tucker was able to convert his 3rd field goal. With an interception on the ensuing end, Anthony Levine Sr, the defensive back of the Ravens was able to finish the Texans comfortably. For the AFC’s second wild-card and sixth seed spot, the Ravens have improved and jumped the Buffalo Bills. Joe Flacco the quarterback of the Ravens was able to finish with twenty out of thirty-two for one hundred and forty-one yards. In a nutshell, the Ravens had the win after the final whistle.

NFL 2017 Week 11: Houston Texans vs Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, November 19, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

Cardinals right now are focusing on taking down the Texans with Tom Savage’s maximum strength, whereas Texans are protecting the football and are trying to run the football more effectively and more often Lamar Miller’s bility. The Texans have allowed the long touchdown passes to the fast and wide receivers in the past two games of NFL. Cardinals’ team isn’t that fast, but the players have the hands, running skills and the perfect body control of the game that would definitely turn the coming gameday into a favorable one.

Chandler Jones of Cardinals was a sack master in the last game of the NFL. He has only one of the multi-sack play, whereas the BrenoGiacomini of Texans is a tough veteran and isn’t going to go easy on his opponents. Cardinals could easily get into the spotlight by taking over Texans by their potential. For thecoming to NFL Gameday, Cardinals would be able to comeover the injuries they have in a better way in comparison to the Texans which isn’t going to be good for the opponent team. And for Texans, they might have to give more for the win as the Cardinals aren’t going to be easy at all at the coming NFL Gameday.

NFL 2017 Week 10: Houston Texans at Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, November 12, 4:05 PM, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

Houston Texans at Los Angeles Rams was another outstanding game that you have to see to believe. The Los Angeles Rams beat the Houston Texans by a score of 33-7. This was an exciting game for the fans of these teams. The Rams know how to play well at home, and this is much fun for the fans of this outstanding team. The Rams were just 5-0 when they played away from the Coliseum but they had a score of 1-2 when they just played at home. The Rams routed the powerful Indianapolis Colts in the beautiful season opener.

The Rams lost to the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Redskins in the season opener, and we have to take this into consideration today. They had to face a disappointed home crowd at that time too. The Rams quashed any doubt about whether they could entertain their fans on Sunday. This is truly awesome for the fans of this team and they will be coming back for more. Mr. Woods was great in the game, and he demonstrated that he is truly more than just a possession receiver. He just caught 8 passes, which is truly remarkable. This game was such a lot of fun and you should be there to have fun.

NFL 2017 Week 9: Houston Texans vs Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, November 05, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

The Indianapolis Colts came into the game with a three-game losing streak, but they found a way to hold the Houston Texan offense to fourteen points and win the game twenty to fourteen. The Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett threw for three hundred and eight yards and two touchdowns. He also did not have an interception. Brissett’s main receiver on the day was T.Y. Hilton who caught five passes for one hundred and seventy-five yards and scored two touchdowns. Jack Doyle also caught eight passes for sixty-three yards. Running back Frank Gore also ran for fifty-one yards on seventeen attempts to give the Colts offense a balanced attack.

The Texans quarterback Tom Savage threw for two hundred and nineteen yards on nineteen completions. He did not throw any interceptions. Savages prime target was DeAndre Hopkins who the quarterback targeted seventeen times. The pair only connected on six passes for eighty-six yards and a lone touchdown. Lamar Miller ran fifty-seven yards on ten attempts. The Texans scored on the defensive side of the ball. Safety Eddie Pleasant recovered a fumble and ran it in for a touchdown which was the only other score that the Texans could against the colts stingy defense.

NFL 2017 Week 8: Houston Texans at Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, October 29, 4:05 PM, CenturyLink Field

In a tightly contested match, a touchdown made with 21 seconds on the clock turned the tables and the game ended 41-38 in favor of Seattle Seahawks who were playing against the Houston Texans. This is Seattle’s fifth win this season and their score stands at 5-2. With 1:39 left on the clock, Seattle was down 38-34 and had no more timeouts. Russell Wilson, their quarterback, led the journey to the winning touchdown with 80 yards and then Paul Richardson ran 48 yards before giving the ball to Tyler Lockett who made the winning TD. With both teams having started off with fierce competition the entire field was filled with tension as that finals score came through. Wilson ended the game with 26 of 41, 4562 yards and 4 touchdowns which is his personal best. The Houston Texans, quarterback, Deshaun Watson proved to be worthy competition.

He finished with 402 yards and 4 touchdowns. He however was intercepted by Richard Sherman as he attempted to salvage his team’s glory with 7secinds left. Watson became the first rookie to throw at least three touchdown passes in 4 consecutive games. In his first seven games, he has 19 touchdown passes which is the most any rookie has ever scored in the first 7 games. He set an NFL record as being the first player to have 50 rushing yards, 400 passing yards and 4 passing touchdowns in a game.

NFL 2017 Week 6: Houston Texans vs Cleveland Browns on Sunday, October 15, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

Deshaun Watson was the star performer as the Houston Texans overpowered the Cleveland Browns 33-17 in a game that witnessed Watson make NFL history by becoming the first rookie to have three touchdowns in three consecutive games. Braxton Miller made his first touchdown of the season after being set up by Watson.

The Browns, who benched Deshone Kizer in favor of Kevin Hogan, have now lost 16 consecutive away games. The Texans who had a 24-3 lead by halftime set a franchise record by scoring over 30 points for the fourth straight game. Having lost to the Jets in their previous match, the Browns were level on 3-3 with the Texans early on in the first quarter but were soon outdone by the Texans and finished the second quarter without a point.

In their first game without J.J Watt, the team whose next game is against the Seahawks had a fine display with their other star performers being DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller who both caught touchdown passes for the third game in a row. The Cleveland Browns will be looking to turn their tides when they host the Titans in their next game.

NFL 2017 Week 5: Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, October 08, 8:30 PM, NRG Stadium

Kansas City chiefs extended there unbeaten run to 5-0 as they beat Houston Texans 42-34. Quarterback Alex Smith and Kareem Hunt playing the back position led the Chiefs to thrash a weaker side Texans led by J.J. Watt in a match that also saw him break his leg. The Chiefs took the lead early and never shown any signs of relenting. Harrison Butker and Smith gave their team what they deserved as they kicked four field goals and threw three touchdown passes respectively. Smith tried hard to avoid throwing interceptions as he completed succefully 29 of 37 passes. Kareem on the other side showed how he can play well his role at the back having covered 107 yards with 29 carries.

Texans came to this match with a morale having managed a big win in there previous match against Tennessee. Dashaun Watson’s attempts to help his team, bore no fruit as he ran for 261 yards with 5 touchdowns to beat the chiefs in vain. Watt was injured and fell to the ground before the field goal as he was being blocked by Chiefs players. Other players hat also got injuries were Whitney Mercilus and Corey Moore of Houston Texans and Steven Terrell of Kansas City Chiefs. The Houston Texans were unlucky as the match ended 42-34 to the favor of the Kansas City Chiefs.

NFL 2017 Week 4: Houston Texans vs Tennessee Titans on Sunday, October 01, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

The Houston Texans crushed the Tennessee Titans, 57-14, in a breakout game for Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson. Watson, who replaced Tom Savage in the first game of the season, threw for over 280 yards and four touchdown passes and ran for another. He easily silenced the critics who thought he should not start so early in the season as a rookie. But the former Heisman Trophy winner and national champion easily picked apart the decent Titans defense. The Texans defense performed masterfully, causing five turnovers. On the other side of the field, the Titans lost any momentum they may have gained from their 2-1 start.

Marcus Mariota threw for one touchdown and ran for another, but threw two interceptions and could not penetrate the Texans defense. Mariota then received an injury and was replaced by Matt Cassel. Cassel, a journeyman who has received nothing but criticism over his past five years as a backup and occasional starter, lost a fumble and was entirely ineffective. The Texans are at the top of the division and have a better chance of making the playoffs than any other team in their division, while the Titans must focus on getting Mariota back if they have any chance of making the playoffs.

NFL 2017 Week 3: Houston Texans at New England Patriots on Sunday, September 24, 1:00 PM, Gillette Stadium

In a game that provided many thrills, the New England Patriots were able to make a late game comeback and defeat the Houston Texans. The Texans came into the game with the Patriots with a rookie quarterback and plenty of gumption as they sought to take down the defending Superbowl champs. The Texan’s young quarterback, DeShaun Watson, had his best game of the season so far going 22-33 for 292 yards. Texans were also able to rack up 125 yards on the ground and actually out gained Tom Brady and the Patriots 417 to 396 in total yards. On the defensive side of the ball, the Texans gave Brady and the Patriots fits all day, even converting a pick six. The Patriots are the Patriots, however, and when you have a chance to put them away you have to take it.

This is the mistake that the Texans made. With 2:28 left in the game and facing a 4th and 1 on the New England 18 yard line, the Texans chose to kick a field goal and take a 33-28 with 2 minutes left in the game. This was a surprised as Texans had been able to chew up yardage all day and gaining 1 more yard would have at the very least eaten up more time. Two minutes is too much time to leave Tom Brady with the game on the line and the Texans learned that the hard way as they fell to the Patriots 36-33.

NFL 2017 Week 2: Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday, September 14, 8:25 PM, Paul Brown Stadium

The Bengals and Texans are looking for the best way to rebound from the losses of Week 1. By winning the AFC South in every of the last 2 seasons, the Texans are coming off back-to-back postseason travels. This also includes having victory over the Bengals every year. While looking to pick up their victory of the latest season, the Bengals will like to return the favor when the two teams clash in primetime. In Week 2 NFL matchup, the Texans left their home to visit the Cincinnati Bengals.

The embarrassment that each team had last week remains a scar in the eyes of fans. The rookie quarterback Watson on his 22nd birthday appeared for the first time in the NFL game star. Watson’s appearance led the Texans to have a win of 13-9 over the Bengals. With fifty seconds to go in the first half as both teams struggled on offence, Watson ebbed away from pressure and had a forty-nine-yard touchdown run to give Texans 10-3 lead. The only touchdown of the game came from Watson.

NFL 2017 Week 1: Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, September 10, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

The team of the Jaguars appeared to be different when playing the Houston Texans. This includes the Texans quarterback Tom Savage and a franchise-record ten sacks. After the preseason unleashed the likes of Blake Bortles, there has not been great optimism around the Jacksonville Jaguars. The problems of Blake became a huge deficit for the team during the game. It still looked like a tough season on the way after the Jaguars announced that Bortle will not be requested to throw enough to affect the team with interceptions.

In fact, the Jaguars also promised that the game will be a Leonard Fournette show. Doug Marrone, the Jaguars’ coach kept his promise and learned about the team’s hounding defense and the rookie running back to conquer the Houston Texans and the pre season 1-0. On a four-year contract, Calais Campbell joined the Jaguars for sixty million dollars. This money is huge for defensive players who turned thirty-one prior to the 2017 season starting. Campbell looked like a player that is worth paying double the amount of his contract. Irrespective of the players that lined up from three hundred pounds 6’8 lineman, they were all consumed. By halftime, Calais finished with 4 sacks which are better than the franchise record of the opponent team.

NFL Preseason 2017 Week 4: Houston Texans vs Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, August 31, 8:00 PM, NRG Stadium

The final preseason match between the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans, scheduled to be played in Houston, was cancelled due to the flooding and devastation wrought by Hurricane Harvey in the Houston area. Originally, the game had been moved from Houston to Dallas, and was scheduled to be played on the same date and time. However, as the extent of the hurricane’s impact became more and more apparent, the NFL made the decision to cancel the game entirely.

Hurricane Harvey slammed into the southeast coast of Texas in late August, causing a massive displacement of people, as well as tremendous damages to the Houston metropolitan area. 46 people in the United States have been reported dead as a result of the storm, and at least 10 billion dollars in economic losses due to the storm and the flooding it brought. Houston was by far the largest city affected by the hurricane.

The reason given for the cancellation was to allow the Houston Texans players, coaches and staff to return to Houston to see to their families. The Houston Texans have donated $1 million to the relief efforts, and Houston’s superstar defensive lineman J.J. Watt has privately raised over $12 million on his own for disaster relief. 3 other NFL franchises from other cities (the Titans, Patriots and Jets) and the NFL Foundation donated $1 million as well.

NFL Preseason 2017 Week 3: Houston Texans at New Orleans Saints on Saturday, August 26, 8:00 PM, Mercedes-Benz Superdome

The final match of the preseason for the Texans saw their offense struggle badly in a 13-0 defeat. The Texans struggled to move the ball, with the quarterback, Tom Savage, finishing the game with 10 of 16 for 79 yards. The result puts the Houston Texans at 1-2 for preseason and moves the New Orleans Saints to 2-1 for preseason.

The game didn’t come alive until the third quarter, with just a single field goal kicked by the Saints in the first half. It wasn’t until late in the third quarter, when running back Darius Victor completed a 3-yard run to put the Saints 10-0 up, that the crowd saw a touchdown. Another field goal late in the fourth completed the victory for the Saints, who will be very happy with the performance of their defense who have only allowed 7 first-half points in their three preseason games. The Saints will play one more preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens in New Orleans on August 31st before they open their campaign against the Minnesota Vikings on September 11th.

NFL Preseason 2017 Week 2: Houston Texans vs New England Patriots on Saturday, August 19, 8:00 PM, NRG Stadium

The Houston Texans defeated the New England Patriots by a score of 27-23 in Houston in the second preseason game for both teams. Houston was the first to get on the board, as quarterback Tom Savage found wide receiver Jaelen Strong from 2 yards out to give Houston the 7-0 lead. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady would answer back on the very next drive, with a 22 yard touchdown pass to running back Rex Burkhead evening the score. New England and Houston would go on to trade field goals, and a second Stephen Gostkowski field goal toward the end of the half would give New England a 13-10 lead going into the halftime break.

Gostkowski would convert a third field goal in the third quarter to widen New England’s advantage, but rookie quarterback first round draft pick Deshaun Watson would put the Texans back in front with a 2 yard touch down run. Watson had an uneven day, completing only 3 of his 10 passing attempts, but connecting on a 63 yard pass with a fellow rookie, running back D’Onta Foreman. Houston would extend their advantage with a late 3rd quarter field goal to make it 20-16. New England took back the lead in the 4th quarter, with backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo passing to running back D.J. Foster for a 25 yard touchdown. But in the end, Houston scored last, with D’Onta Foreman rushing from 4 yards out to give Houston the 27-23 lead. This proved to be the final score, and Houston emerged victorious.

NFL Preseason 2017 Week 1: Houston Texans at Carolina Panthers on Wednesday, August 09, 7:30 PM, Bank of America Stadium

Coach Ron Rivera led the Carolina Panthers to a 27-17 win over the Houston Texans for the preseason opener at Bank of America Stadium Wednesday. Despite the conspicuous lack franchise quarterback Cam Newton due to rotator cuff surgery, as well as powerhouses like Julius Peppers, Charles Johnson or Ryan Kalil, coach Rivera saw what he needed to see from his second and third string players in clenching the win.

The standout of the game was Damiere Bird, the sophomore NFL player out of South Carolina, who had two touchdowns, one a 50-yard completion from backup quarterback Derek Anderson, and four total completions for a total of 98 yards. The game also saw receiver Kelvin Benjamin back in top form with two catches for 40 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter

The game saw the NFL debut of Desahaun Watson, the Texans as-for-now backup quarterback. Fresh from leading Clemson to win the national championship in January, Watson completed 15 of 25 passes for 179 yards, in addition to a 15 -yard touchdown run. The game was indeed a promising inauguration for the 12th overall draft pick.

The Panthers will take on the Tennessee titans in Nashville August 19th in Nashville, while the Texans gear up for a clash with the New England Patriots at home on August 20th.

Houston Texans NFL season 2016 recap

It was a difficult season to be a Texans fan, especially if you were expecting the team from Houston to do better than their 9-7 finish. The only silver lining in their season is that they get the 25th pick in the draft, which gives them slight contention to get talent on their roster that can help the team to prosper. The Super Bowl wasn’t the only thing lost by the Texans as they also parted ways with their Offensive Coordinator, George Godsey, who was with the team for 3 years.

After beating the Oakland Raiders to gain a spot in the Wild Card game against the Pats, the Texans fell to New England 16 to 34, though they still remain ranked first in the AFC South. Placed 29th in the NFL in passing yards, 6th in rushing yards, and 29th in yards per game, the team’s statistics give fans some hope for next year. The Houston Texans had 305 first downs, 5,035 offensive rushing yards, and 25 touchdowns.

Brock Osweiler gave his team 2,957 passing yards with 16 interceptions, giving him a 72.2 quarterback rating. Lamar Miller brought 1073 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns with Alfred Blue coming in second with 420 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. DeAndre Hopkins covered 954 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns with C.J. Fiedorowicz right behind with 559 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns as well.

Overall, the Houston Texans had a season that was lacking in excitement, particularly if you’re a longtime fan. Now they can take this time during the off-season to train up and be better next year.

NFL 2016 Divisional Playoffs: Houston Texans at New England Patriots on Saturday, January 14, 8:15 PM, Gillette Stadium

Brady and Belichick dominated a nerve-wracking game that saw the Patriots triumph 34-16 over the Texans. Speedy Dion Lewis made three touchdowns for the Patriots who had to endure a challenging first half to crush the unrelenting Texans.

It was evident that Tom Brady had one of his best games at the home of the Patriots as he made two crucial touchdowns and interceptions. Brock Osweiler performance didn’t match up with his previous performances. He made three interceptions and threw all of them into the opponent’s receivers.

Stephen Gostkowski made two clear field goals for New England Patriots while Nick Novak made three for Houston. Gostkowski has never missed a field-goal attempt since 2009. By halftime, the Patriots were 15-0 ahead.

The Texan’s defense was in question over the entire game as their opponents made use of their mistakes. They settled for field goals that would were preventable.

Houston’s loss means that their chance to host the Super Bowl is gone. The game also marked the end of a career for the Patriot’s Vince Wilfork. The Texans fought up to the end. However, the match just ended with the Brock Osweiler’s interception. Patriots will face the winner between Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs who are meeting on Sunday night.

NFL 2016 Wild Card Weekend: Houston Texans vs Oakland Raiders on Saturday, January 07, 4:35 PM, NRG Stadium

With the rumors circling around the Houston Texans and Brock Osweiler’s benching, he truly brought his team to a victory with the help of Jadeveon Clowney. Not only were the Texans able to beat the Oakland Raiders 24-17, but the Texans also experienced their first win in the postseason since 2012. There were also rumors circling around Clowney’s placement in the 2014 draft and whether he really deserved to be the first round pick, but during the game, he showed his true strengths by grabbing his first interception of his career. The best part was that he picked the ball during the second drive for the Raiders.

With a touchdown throw and a running touchdown from Osweiler, he was able to pull out his best game of the season as a result of Tom Savage’s concussion, though the quarterback was only able to pull 168 passing yards. Clowney has had an equally as difficult road through the NFL with his numerous injuries during his first two seasons, though he was able to hold his weight for the Texans and pull out this crucial win.

Now the Texans are on to face the New England Patriots or the Kansas City Chiefs.

NFL 2016 Week 17: Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans on Sunday, January 01, 1:00 PM, Nissan Stadium

Another intense football match that occurred on 1st January 2017 was between the old foes, the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans. The Tennessee Titans triumphed over Texans with the 24 scores against the Texans’ 17. It was an important victory for the Titans as they triumphed over the Texans in their home ground, the Nissan Stadium. The game was a thrilling encounter with both the Texans and the Titans having good passing yards. Additionally, both teams had a good rushing offense that characterized the reasonable score that was seen at the end of the game. Even though the Texans were expected to beat the Titans with better touchdown scoring and point scoring, the Titans managed to nullify these abilities of the Texans.

In the end, the game was a thrilling encounter that left the fans wanting some more and more. Both teams ended the season well. We cannot wait for more of these encounters when the new season starts. It will be fun watching these teams continue their old bitter rivalry.

NFL 2016 Week 16: Houston Texans vs Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday, December 24, 8:25 PM, NRG Stadium

The Houston Texans had a great opportunity for winning over Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday night game. The game was just close throughout the apart from the furious late game rally by the Cincinnati.

The Houston held the win after Bengal kicker Randy missed the 43-yard field goal just before time expired. The Texans had high hopes of winning after the Jaguars beat the second place the Titans on Saturday game. The defense played well at the start of the game, but the offense came out slow with quarterback player Savage at the helm. He had two 13 yard completions.

As the game continued he improved himself and this contributed a lot to the win of Texans. He did not have an interception or throw the touchdown and had a quarterback of 79.1 rating. At first, the Texans did not have starting running back player Miller for their first time because he had an injured ankle on Sunday while playing with the Jaguars.

Alfred started in his place and had a total of 73 yards on 21 carries and that include 24 yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter and this gave the Texans a good lead. This was the first time for savage to play for NFL after he replaced player Brock at the quarterback last week.

NFL 2016 Week 15: Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, December 18, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

These two teams have faced each other 30 times with the Jacksonville Jaguars winning 11 games while Houston Texans 19. The Texans showed their critics just how resilient they are by defeating the Indianapolis Colts 7-6. This guaranteed them a first place tie with AFC South from Tennessee.

The Jaguars took an early lead courtesy thanks to two stunning interceptions by Osweiler. This is the moment that Obrien amped up his game by leading from the front. Jalen Ramsey the Jaguars rookie corner back was very prolific for a great part of the day containing DeAndre Hopkins. Unfortunately for the Jaguars, they have not recorded a single win in eight consecutive games. It’s highly likely that their head coach Gus Bradley will be fired towards the end of the regular season.

O’Brien’s best acquisition during the off-season was Savage who was just a fourth round pick during the 2014 draft. Savage managed an impressive 23 of 36 passes for 260 yards. He also led the Texans to achieve a great 52 yard touchdown drive that gave Houston their first lead in the game. His match indicates that the Texans have finally discovered a capable quarterback whose consistency will make Houston a dangerous team as we approach the postseason.

NFL 2016 Week 14: Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, December 11, 1:00 PM, Lucas Oil Stadium

Last week’s match was full of surprises as the team lead by Brock Osweiler, the Houston Texans just recently won against the Indianapolis Colt in a match where HT did their everything to win!

It is to praise the job L. Miller did; the guy just ran dozens of yards and yards without anyone capable to stop him, so far that he got himself a walking touchdown!

The best kicker of that match was Nick Novak; his years of experience showed the world how far he can score from afar, giving his team the dominance over the first and second quarter of the match.

In the third quarter the Colts reacted in order to stay more on the defensive lines rather than the offensive lines, the positioning and movements from the Houston were near unstoppable as every come back from the Colts on the offensive resulted in the Texas boys getting the ball instead.

The moment of truth came when G. Harrison scored a Touchdown near the half of the third quarter, giving his team enough confidence to keep on fighting, and just as it is, the rest of the team scored more on the last minutes of the 3rd.

By the last quarter, despite all the efforts made from the Colts, in the end, the Houston Texans got the game on their hands, as they have scored a gap difference of 13 points back in the 3rd quarter, giving them a free opportunity to win.

Incredible game, but a combination of luck and skill were the reasons the Houston Texans won, next week to come is going to get even hotter!

NFL 2016 Week 13: Houston Texans at Green Bay Packers on Sunday, December 04, 1:00 PM, Lambeau Field

After a game versus the Texas Houstons at home, the Green Bay Packers are back at .500. They finally triumph again, defeating the Texas Houstons for a 21-13 win. Aaron Rodgers, the true star of the game, threw for 209 yards and made two touchdowns.

This game was fairly unexciting. There wasn’t much action in the first quarter. The Packers then took the lead in the second quarter with their first touchdown, and they never fell behind. Perhaps the most enticing moment in the game was when the Houstons scored their first touchdown in the third quarter to tie the game. It didn’t take long, however, for the Packers to pull up in front, scoring their two final touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The Houstons managed to make one final touchdown, but still faced total demolition, losing by 8 points in the end.

The Green Bay Packers really needed this win to come back through, although it was honestly expected by many. The Texas Houstons have overall played a very poor game this season. The Packers have yet to beat a really competitive team, but they will need to do so if they want to maintain or improve upon .500.

NFL 2016 Week 12: Houston Texans vs San Diego Chargers on Sunday, November 27, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

Houston Texans had earlier lost to Oakland, perhaps they were destabilized due to the loss and could not put themselves together to face San Diego Chargers and hence another loss occurred. Texans had only gotten near wins even in their home, even though they have not lost in five games this season. Chargers led Texans with 21-13 scores in the match that held on November 27, 10am PT (1am ET) at the NRG Stadium, Houston Texas. Brock Osweiler, the quarterback player, for Texans has received major focus for the offense due to his obvious unpredictability.

A large part of the loss against Chargers can be attributed to Osweiler and fans have expressed how discontented they are primarily with Osweiler. Texans is set to face Indianapolis and would have to put in their best in order to win the second place. Chargers also has its own offense and in fact Chargers’ offense in the NFL league is ranked seventh and its average point in the league is 29.2, the second rank in the league. The sad part of it is not really that Texans lost but that they lost in their home.

NFL 2016 Week 11: Houston Texans at Oakland Raiders on Monday, November 21, 8:30 PM, Estadio Azteca

The NFL played a regular season match for the first time in Mexico since 2005. Over 75,000 fans attended the Match which Raiders enjoyed a 27-20 victory in the week extending their lead in AFC West table. Despite the fact that Texans played at home, they were suppressed by the visitors in the fourth quarter. With just 11 minutes remaining, Houston’s quarterback allowed a 75-yard try pass to Jamize Olawale, which leveled the game to 20-20 score. After a poor start, Raiders offense onslaught in the last quarter with Derek Carr scoring two touchdowns in the final quarter to give the visitors a win.

He completed 21 passes, three touchdowns as well as one interception for 295 yards. Texans defender Brock Osweiler struggled with a green light pointing at him during the course of the game. In spite of the distraction, he played well, completing 26 passes for 246 yards. On top of that, he made an interception and converted a touchdown. However, Oakland’s bid for a 34-yard score came up short while after the referee ruled out after Hopkins stepped out of the restricted area at the one yard line. Then again with eight minutes remaining in first half, HHouston Texans at Oakland Raiders:ouston leveled up 10-10 after Braxton Miller connected a 12-yard assist from Osweiler.

NFL 2016 Week 10: Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, November 13, 1:00 PM, EverBank Field

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars will be another great game. The Texans have been playing badly on the road this regular season, and that’s truly a shame for this amazing team. The team has lost games at Denver, Minnesota, and New England. The team just found the end zone truly once in these cities, and they just got outscored just by a combination of 64 points. The Texans are on top of the famous AFC South, but the team needs to revert this trend if they want to remain there.

The Texans will be playing at Jacksonville, and this might help them a lot. The Jaguars are just 0-3 at home, which is a shame for this team as well. On Sunday, one of these teams will end a streak, which is very good for them as well. These teams need to put their bad games just behind them, and then they have to move on. That’s what they need to do if they want to stay ahead of the pack in the future as well. Houston will be playing for games out of five just away from their home, which might be either good or bad for them. The team needs no find some better road results if they want to go to the Super Bowl this year as well.

NFL 2016 Week 8: Houston Texans vs Detroit Lions on Sunday, October 30, 12:00 PM, NRG Stadium

It was a bitter defeat for the Detroit Lions against the Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon. By the fourth quarter, the Detroit Lions had seen what points they had racked up ultimately lose, 20-13, with the Texans taking the lead, officially ending the Lions’ winning streak. Disappointed Lions fans are calling the fault of the loss on Coach Jim Caldwell’s questionable decisions towards the fourth-quarter and throughout the game. Caldwell, for reasons unknown, did not challenge a potential third-quarter fumble that came at the hands of Texans’ receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

According to Caldwell, his decision was due to his assistant coaches saying that the pass was incomplete on replay. Later in the game, Caldwell also decided to an onside kick with the Lions down seven points and with all three time-outs available to him still holstered. Ultimately, Robert Nelson recovered the onside kick and the Texans ran out the final 2:53 off the clock, remaining undefeated in their home.

For Lions fans, it was an infuriating experience. Caldwell has already been in the public eye for his previous losses and their defeat against the Houston Texans seems to have put him right back in the hotspot, though he feels justified.

NFL 2016 Week 7: Houston Texans at Denver Broncos on Monday, October 24, 8:30 PM, Sports Authority Field

Brock Osweiler’s return to Denver did not go the way he wanted. He was constantly on the run, and the Denver defense harassed him the entire game, and the Broncos handed the Texans a 27-9 loss. The Broncos recovered after losing their last two games and are 5-2 on the season. The Texans returned home at 4-3.

Denver finally got the ground attack going with both Anderson and Booker getting touchdowns. Each had 107 and 83 yards on the day respectively. Trevor Siemian, who stepped in for Denver at QB when Osweiler bolted to Houston, definitely outplayed him. Osweiler was only 50% on the day with 131 yards. He had zero touchdowns. Siemian through for 14 of 25 and had 157 throwing yards. He even had a single touchdown. Both QB’s had no interceptions.

Coach Kubiak’s had another scare to his health but returned to see his Broncos take a 14-6 lead at halftime and just continued scoring in the second half. Houston’s drives that could have lead to touchdowns only ended in field goals. It was Osweiler’s first time playing against the Broncos since he left in free agency.

NFL 2016 Week 6: Houston Texans vs Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, October 16, 8:30 PM, NRG Stadium

At Houston it became a fall from grace for the Colts after a 14-point lead. There could be many reasons at play – Andrew Luck’s poor decisions on the field, bizarre coaching, who knows. Regardless, they played themselves into defeat.

Andrew Luck had a few moments where the pressure clearly got to him. He also made decision that didn’t quite work out, probably because he wasn’t reading the field as well as he should. His adjustments just fell flat and couldn’t get the ball out many times.

Pagano believes he has a good defense when in fact the Colts line is consider one of the worst in the league – so why is he making those risks on a delusion?

What was more delusional was in how the Texan came back in the last quarter. The last time an NFL team rallied from a 14-point deficit in the final three minutes was five years ago (that was with Tim Tebow and the Broncos). Brock Osweiler of the Texans threw a 36-yard pass to Jaelen Strong after tieing with the Colts in the last minute. After that, Nick Novak made a 33-yard field goal in overtime that sealed their victory.

There were a lot of Texan fans that had already left the stadium by the beginning of the fourth. They missed out on one the best comebacks in years.

NFL 2016 Week 5: Houston Texans at Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, October 09, 1:00 PM, U.S. Bank Stadium

The Vikings improve to five wins and no losses, staying undefeated, while the Texans lose their second game of the season.

The Texans did not have a great game on Sunday. They could not convert on third down very well, only once out of thirteen third downs were the able to get a first down. All they could do, passing wise, were short dump off passes that did not get them very far. And their rushing was meager, only twenty yards from Lamar Miller. In their two losses this season, the Texans sure have under performed as a team. They have been outscored by both New England and now the Vikings 58-13, or 45 points.

Brock Osweiler completed nineteen of his 42 passes, throwing for 184 yards, and threw one touchdown pass, and one interception in the game.

Sam Bradford completed 22 of his thirty passes, throwing for 271 yards, and threw two touchdown passes, and zero interceptions in the game.

Houston had a hard time scoring in the game. By the end of the first half, Minnesota had already scored 24 of their points, while the Texans scored six of theirs. The second half, both teams were only able to score seven each. By then, it was much too late, and Houston’s ability to hold the Vikings’s offense back was not enough.

NFL 2016 Week 4: Houston Texans vs Tennessee Titans on Sunday, October 02, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

For the Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans, the match was very fantastic. The Texans missed the services of J.J Watt, but the formation was perfect for the day. The game began with a fast pace from the hosts and great defense tactics from the Titans. The fact that the Texans boys did not have their best player gave them a fast pace a new formation, which gave the visitors a hard time.

With a 27-20 win against the Tennessee boys, the Houston players had many opportunities all along the match. At the onset of the game, Texans made a great move and took a 14-point score lead against the struggling opponents. For the entire first half of the match, the Titans played a defense game with most of the attacking coming for the centre and line attackers.

The most remarkable player for the game was Fuller, especially in the second half. His efforts played a big role in the win for the hosts thanks to his touchdown and perfect ball interceptions. Clowney and Osweller had great defense combinations that always left the fans screaming. During the play, Murray broke the monotony of field goals by his touchdown.

The last minutes had a lot of activity with the Texans exceeding the lead against the now-awake Titans. From this match, it was evident that the Texan Boys can work even without their key players.

NFL 2016 Week 3: Houston Texans at New England Patriots on Thursday, September 22, 8:25 PM, Gillette Stadium

Houston Texans at the Patriots was the game to watch. The Patriots had suffered a defeat in their last match just before they were to be hosted by Houston Texans in the last season’s NFL match but they still managed to defeat the Houston Texans 27-6. The Patriots have encountered a loss of their QB last week after Jimmy Garoppolo got a shoulder injury. This meant that Jacob Brissett, was to start the game against the Houston Texans. Jacob Brissett a rookie from North Carolina State has been available a week ago and in the pre-season. The Patriots have been loosing their assets but they seem to play hard still.

The Patriots have been on fire and even the top ranked defenses fails to stop them. Houston Texans have depended on their defense for its 2-0 start, but this won’t be enough to stop the Patriots. Houston Texans defeated the Kansas City chiefs 19-12 last Sunday. Houston have had a strong defense and won three times defense player of the year. Brissett will have a tough night as Houston have been criticized of talin too many sack and are ranked ninth. Brissett will have to make plays but he will surely need a lot of help.

NFL 2016 Week 2: Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, September 18, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

In a game that saw five turnovers, including near back-to-back turnovers in the first quarter, the Kansas City Chiefs failed to find a way into the end zone against the Houston Texans. In fact, all 12 of the Chiefs points that came in their 19-12 loss to the Texans were marked by Cairo Santos. Alex Smith performed to a decent enough caliber completing 20 passes on 37 attempts for 186 yards, but his offense was too often set back on crucial turnovers. As Smith lined up in the shotgun, an ill-performed snap went over his head and was recovered inside their own 30 yard line by the Houston defense.

Later, Demetrius Harris caught a rope for a first down giving the Chiefs position inside the red zone, unfortunately, he immediately fumbled the ball and it was recovered by Houston’s backfield. To pile up the problems, Spencer Ware lost the ball inside the Texans’ territory. When it was picked up by Kevin Johnson, he managed to return it to inside the Chiefs’ red zone. Deandre Hopkins was the star of the show as he took in 7 receptions for 113 yards, including a touchdown after an impressive swim move over the top of the Chiefs secondary.

NFL 2016 Week 1: Houston Texans vs Chicago Bears on Sunday, September 11, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

Week 1 turned out very well for the home team when the Chicago Bears at Houston Texans’ NRG Stadium lost by a full nine points. It’s never fun to lose by that much, and you have to respect the Texans for stopping them that much. It should also be appreciated that the last time these two teams faced off was all the way back in 2012, so they aren’t often teams that travel the same fields. Well, Sunday made a definite change to that with the Chicago Bears visiting the Texans’ home turf, ready to go.

The Chicago Bears weren’t helped by shifts in the roster even a few days before the start of the game, because that means they didn’t have as much time to get used to the new formation that their offense was going to be playing with. As a result, there were some definite struggles from the windy city’s team. You’d be surprised to hear that, seeing as the Bears actually took the lead for the start of the game, leading all the way to the end of the second quarter. Unfortunately for them, the Texans pulled themselves together and got two field goals and a touchdown before the end of the game while stopping the Bears from doing the same.

NFL Preseason 2016 Week 4: Houston Texans at Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, September 01, 8:00 PM, AT&T Stadium

The Texans were the visitors of Cowboys in an eventful NFL preseason match. The hosts started the match with confidence of winning but had many stops due to the reorganization of the Texans Boys. Prescott Dak, the replacement of injured Romo, had a great task to feed the ball from the quarter back region. He seems fit for the position regarding the perfect passes he had all over the game.

For the Cowboys, they had to reorganize the game after their ball possession went to less than 20%. Jerrod Johnson came in the Quarter Back region to save the team from the aggressive Texan attackers. Showers had some poor performance but had a touchdown with some minutes to the end of the game. He had however missed many opportunities thanks to the lazy wingers who ran only when it was needed.

Jackson had a lot of work to do for his team. The players surrounding him were all occupied and he was the only who could get some space. He had three successful catches and two kick returns that saved his team a great deal. At one time, the Dallas defense boys got confused and Jacksons made a touchdown leaving David a surprised man.

With such a remarkable performance from both teams, the coaches have done good training work,. However, the injuries on the defense lines of both teams are something to worry about. Most of the cornerbacks had no yields to show in the match.

NFL Preseason 2016 Week 3: Houston Texans vs Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, August 28, 4:00 PM, NRG Stadium

The Houston Texans stamped their authority in a dominating 34 – 24 win over the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals just could not find their rhythm as the Texans strong defence strangled them and kept them in check.

Things started poorly for the Cardinals as Patrick Peterson was held back and things never got better for the rest of the game. The second quarter was really the difference between the two teams and overall the five turnovers committed by Arizona hurt them badly.

The Texans’ receivers consistently got the better of the Cardinals’ cornerbacks. Quarterback Tom Savage and Kicker Nick Novak also impressed and the Texans pressed home.

With a 0-3 record in the pre-season, Cardinals fans have a lot of reasons to worry. However, coach Bruce Arians is not too concerned and feels that the team is moving in the right direction.

What should also encourage Cardinals supporters is the running game, where Johnson and Ellington combined well and showed that they can be pretty dangerous. Also, quarterback Carson Palmer threw nearly 250 yards and seems to be keeping age at bay. The season is just starting and there is a long way to go. Arizona fans would be hoping for a change in fortunes for their team.

NFL Preseason 2016 Week 2: Houston Texans vs New Orleans Saints on Saturday, August 20, 8:00 PM, NRG Stadium

The Texans won the pre-season game against the Saints by a score of 16-9. In this game, the offense just couldn’t be tracked, though the Saints defense handed in a truly strong effort during the game just lose it all to the Texans on a splendid Saturday night. The Saints worked hard to keep the Texans just out of the important end zone just in the second half, and the former had 2 takeaways and 4 sacks during this amazing game. P.J. Williams did an amazing feat with his end zone interception.

Mr. Williams just took an important touchdown away from his foes with this end zone interception, and this happened in the second quarter. This was an excellent play in this strong pre-season for this Florida State sibling. Craig Robertson of the Saints just got a fumble back in the important fourth quarter to generate the second takeaway for the Saints in this pre-season game. Anyway, the Saints just had 3 turnovers. The only touchdown in the game was the product of a fumble that happened to Marcus Murphy during an important punt return which led to this situation right away. One of the 3 field goals of Nick Novak were the product of an interception made by Drew Bress. In the final section of the game, Garret Grayson made an interception for the final turnover the game.

NFL 2016 Preseason Week 1: Houston Texans at San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, August 14, 7:00 PM, Levis Stadium

Another big day for the NFL family was finally here with the big games played ever. Houston Texans at San Francisco 49ers was down to show case new talent and ability to occur this season. On the preseason opener both teams were seen working harder and making that extra unique move so as they can remain on top of the game.

The 49ers lost to the Texans 24-13. This was just a small margin which may be closed if only they will work out a little extra. Things were expected to be much more complex for them especially now that they are getting in the new season with a new head coach. Chip Kelly is the new head coach for the team. He is an ex-Eagles coach. During his time with the Eagles he performed much better and the same strengths are expected in this season so as to push the 49ers to that next level. He has never missed the playoffs during his previous seasons with the Eagle, not until his last season there when he was fired. The teams performance in the first and second quarters is a clear show on the teams determination to get on top when the season begins.

Houston Texans NFL season 2015 recap

The Houston Texans started and ended the 2015-2016 season by losing games to the Kansas City Chiefs. They allowed thirty points in both games and only scored 27 in the first matchup. All in all, they won nine games and lost eight games including the playoffs. They won their division (the AFC South, which was a division that featured two teams that lost more than ten games) by a single game over the Colts (who finished .500) and got the fourth seed in the playoffs.

The Texans used four quarterbacks this season (Ryan Mallett, B.J. Daniels, Brandon Weeden, and Brian Hoyer). With most of the games being started by Brian Hoyer.

Brian Hoyer threw nineteen touchdowns and seven interceptions in the regular season. He threw for 2,606 yards after 369 attempts and 224 completions. He started nine games and saw action in eleven.

Houston rushed for an average 108.2 yards per game- good enough for fifteenth in the league. They threw for an average of 239.6 yards per game- that was good for eighteenth in the league. They were 21st in average points per game with 21.2, and they finished nineteenth in total yards with 347.8 per game.

With stats like this, it is a little surprising that they made the playoffs at all. The only reason they found their way in was due to the fact that SOMEONE had to win the AFC South.

NFL 2015 Wild Card Weekend: Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, January 09, 4:35 PM, NRG Stadium

The NFL keeps lining up rivals and the Chiefs continue knocking them down. Kansas City won their eleventh straight amusement in the wake of starting the season 1-5. Defense dominated the day for K.C. until the offense opened up late against a wilting Texans D. The Chiefs constrained five turnovers, with four picks and a constrained bungle. The guarded line dominated a Duane Brown-less Houston hostile line. With the Texans offense threatening early, guarded end Allen Bailey bull surged left handle Chris Clark back into quarterback Brian Hoyer forcing a bumble, which the Chiefs recouped.

Kansas City endured an enormous blow in the second half when Jeremy Maclin was discounted with a knee injury. The wideout left the amusement with three gets for 29 yards on four targets. Maclin drove the Chiefs’ pass assault all season, compiling 1,088 yards on 87 gatherings and eight touchdown gets.

J.J. Watt was the center of the Chiefs’ offense. The protective lineman got twofold teamed and chipped regularly – Maclin even blocked Watt on one early pass play. Reid keenly composed play calls to keep Watt from impacting the amusement. The Chiefs ran beneficiary screens, plane ranges, and zone peruses to maintain a strategic distance from the two-time Defensive.

NFL 2015 Week 17: Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, January 03, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

The Texans were able to defeat the Jaguars in a very thrilling encounter. They therefore secured a place in the playoffs for the third time after defeating the Jaguars 30-6. The scoreline generally shows how dominant the Texans were in the whole game.

Hoyer had an impressive game and his recent form will ensure he gets his first start. Four quarterbacks presided over the victory making the Texans the first team to qualify to the playoffs since 1950 with such a record. The 19th touchdown pass by Hoyer to Jonathan Grimes was their 29th for this season. This ensured that they tied the franchise record that was set by Matt Schaub.

The Jaguars were only able to gain about 215 yards and they turned the ball over four times. The Texans were able to get about eight take-aways from the Jaguars, which gave them a great advantage over the Jaguars. The Texans may have gained 402 yards, but it is worth noting that they failed to score more than three touchdowns in the game. This shows that they still have a lot to work on offensively. Sunday’s victory over the Jaguars made it four straight wins in a row for the Texans and are favourites going into the playoffs. The Texans are likely to face NFC North and AFC East teams.

NFL 2015 Week 16: Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans on Sunday, December 27, 1:00 PM, Nissan Stadium

Houston is in line to win the AFC South, and might have clinched after this game but the Colts beat Miami by six points. Houston has beaten the Titans seven out of the last eight versus the Titans. They used the four takeaways they got and turned them into seventeen of their points, including a fumble recovery that was returned 33 yards at the start of the game. This is the most points that the Texans have scored this year, they’ve also started four different quarterbacks both this year and last season (this season they have started TJ Yates, Ryan Mallett, Brandon Weeden, and Brian Hoyer).

Brandon Weeden completed fifteen of his 24 passes throwing for 200 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. This was his first start of the season. He also had two rushes, for eleven yards, and scored a touchdown on the ground (his first ever rushing touchdown), and lost a fumble.

Zach Mettenberger completed 27 of his 51 pass attempts, throwing for 234 yards, one touchdowns, and one interceptions. He also lost a fumble.

This game was not at all close. The Texans jumped out to an early 10-0 lead at the end of halftime, and they outscored the Titans by eleven (17-6) in the second half. Houston scored points in every quarter but the fourth.

NFL 2015 Week 15: Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, December 20, 1:00 PM, Lucas Oil Stadium

Brandon Weeden is now the fourth quarterback that the Texans have used and won a game with this season. Weeden saw his marvelous 8-yard pass to the greenhorn Jaelen Strong gave his team the win in a momentous 16-10 triumph. The win marks the Houston Texans’ very first in Indianapolis, and it puts them in firm control of the AFC South with just a couple of weeks to go.

The Houston Texans had lost 13 games consecutively when they visited the Hoosier State. They are now 7 in 7 whereas the Colts are 6 in 8. The Houston Texans will go on to face at Tennessee next Sunday, and then will complete the NFL season at home versus Jacksonville. Meanwhile, the Colts will travel away to Miami next week, and then finish their regular season with the home game against Tennessee.

Weeden, who at the start of the season was with the Cowboys, took the reins here after the torn ACL that affected TJ Yates in the second quarter of this encounter. Brandon Weeden went on to attempt 18 passes and complete 11 passes, for 105 yards. Meanwhile, Alfred Blue completed 107 yards on 20 carries.

NFL 2015 Week 14: Houston Texans vs New England Patriots on Sunday, December 13, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

The game between Patriots and Texans was played on December 14 and the patriots had a win of 27-3 against the Texans. In the first quarter, Malcom Brown fought off a block at the scrimmage line to Chris Polk down for a minimal gain. Jerod Mayo then deciphered the preceding play and shot the A-gap and took Polk down for a loss. In the second quarter, Houston tried to apply the wildcat trick using Jonathan Grimes but the Patriots was ready for the challenge. In the middle of this quarter, Blount took a handoff up the middle.

The third quarter of the game did not affect the overall results. At some point, the ball appeared to be bouncing to Danny Amendola but unfortunately passed over his hand. After a few plays later, James White made a great catch down with a Texan draping all over him. However, this was ruled to be a catch but was later overturned by Houston after deciding that white’s foot was out of bounds. In the last quarter, brandy came with a lot of pressure in another move which was defended. This game left the audience in a surprise as the Patriots became the winners.

NFL 2015 Week 13: Houston Texans at Buffalo Bills on Sunday, December 06, 1:00 PM, Ralph Wilson Stadium

The Texans are one of the NFL’s hottest teams and have played their way back into the AFC play-off picture. The Bills are just one game behind and always tough in Buffalo.

A month ago, Bill O’Brien and the Houston Texans were in shambles. The Texans were sitting at 2-5 after getting absolutely dismantled by the now corroded Miami Dolphins. What was supposed to be the Texans’ backbone, the defense, surrendered 509 total yards and 44 points to Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins.

Yes, that Ryan Tannehill — you know, the one that has only been playing quarterback since Johnny Football’s freshman year at Texas A&M. In that blowout win, the Texans allowed Tannehill to have a career day, completing 18 of 19 pass attempts and throwing for four touchdown passes.

Five things that were to watch: 1. Only three teams had longer winning streaks than the Texans’ current four. 2. The Bills’ sputtering offence was catching the Texans’ suddenly dominant defence at a bad time.

3. Key to the defensive revival had to return. 4. Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor, starting for the first time in his five-year career, deserved kudos for taking care of the football. 5. For the first time all season, the Texans offence marched down the field on the first possession and scored a touchdown.

NFL 2015 Week 12: Houston Texans vs New Orleans Saints on Sunday, November 29, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

The game was won by Houston in a landslide win. Texans defensive end J.J. Watt sacked quarterback Drew Brees twice, and ended up actually making a hit on the quarterback eight other times in the 24-6 win against the Saints, despite the fact that Watt was not released into the game until the second quarter. Watts was quoted as saying “You might want to try somebody else at right tackle….” “I like Drew, I don’t like hitting him like that,” Watts explained further.

The jocular statement was a comical take on the fact that the New Orleans team did extremely poorly. The game was off to an early 14-0 lead by the Texans in the first quarter, and the game is being called a statement win for the Texans, who are enjoying a four game winning streak with this victory. This loss by the Saints had no touchdowns and marked the end of a 9 year, 155 game touch down streak. On Twitter, ESPN tweeted that in “a 24-6 loss to the Texans, the Saints failed to score a touchdown for the first time since Sean Payton and Drew Brees arrived in 2006.” Brees ended the day with 228 yards and an interception on 25-of-44 passing.

Fans and critics are claiming that the New Orleans Saints’ inability to convert on third downs is what ultimately hurt them. The Texans have a stifling defense, and have only conceded only two touchdowns in the past 18 quarters. During one occasion in the middle of the fourth quarter, the Saints seemed close to scoring but the drive ended with an interception by the Texans’ player Kareem Jackson at the goal line, who then managed to return the pick a grand total of 50 yards.

NFL 2015 Week 11: Houston Texans vs New York Jets on Sunday, November 22, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

In order to beat the Jets, the Houston Texans, playing with their different quarterback for the third time this season, knew that they would need to add new flavor to their offence. T. J Yates who was playing the quarterback for the day got his passing game aided a lot from Cecil Shorts who is the receiver for the Texans. The 24 – 17 victory meant that the Texans have now won their game three in a row which hasn’t happened to them since 2012. Yates, playing for the first time since January 2012, where he played in the playoffs as a rookie threw 229 yards which was really incredible.

On the Jets side, Ryan Fitzpatrick was playing for the first time since his surgery on the throwing thumb which was on November 2013. He got a touchdown with 4 and a half minutes left on the clock that saw the Jets get to 17 and that is how the game sadly ended for them. They never advanced advanced past that scoreline despite their impressive game. Overall, the game had its fair share of ups as well as downs and injuries too. The Texans however can only hope to continue with their winning streak as they surely need it.

NFL 2015 Week 10: Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals on Monday, November 16, 8:30 PM, Paul Brown Stadium

The high scoring Bengals hit a low this past week when they played the Texas at home. They lost to a Houston team that has struggled this season with a 10-6 loss. Andy Dalton did not see the numbers he normally put up in games this year by throwing for only 197 yards with no touchdowns and 1 interception.

It was Brian Hoyer for the Texans who had less impressive numbers, but just enough gas in the tank to lead Houston to just their fourth victory in 9 games. Hoyer went 12/22 for 123 yards with no touchdowns and 1 interception. The only touchdown for Houston came when DeAndre Hopkins scored on a 22 yard pass from backup T.J. Yates who replaced Hoyer after Hoyer became injured in the third quarter with an apparent concussion. Yates produced 69 yards on 5 completions.

This is just another time when Dalton had a difficult time against the Texans defense. Back in 2011, the Texas beat the Bengals during the first round of the playoffs.

Giovani Bernard led the Bengals in rushing with only 36 yards on 8 carries. While for the Texans, Jonathan Grimes ran the ball for 33 yards on 6 carries. A.J Green had 67 yard on 5 catches for the Bengals.

NFL 2015 Week 8: Houston Texans vs Tennessee Titans on Sunday, November 01, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

The Houston Texans won a one-sided encounter against the Tennessee Titans. The major talking point was the firing of Titans’ coach Ken Whisenhunt after their 20-6 loss to the Texans. The Titans horrible record continued with their loss to the Texans compounding a sixth consecutive loss on the team and the mounting pressure on the head coach finally gave in and he was dismissed. The Texans were impressive on the day with particularly Whitney Mercilus giving the Titans a torrid time with his sacks. Equally impressive were J.J Watt covering 13.5 yards in sack yardage, Chris Polk who ran for 18 yards for 8 carries and Alfred Blue who had 39 yards for 14 carries. The Titans had Zach Mettenberg and Taylor Lewan totally out of depth in that crushing loss on Sunday. Mettenberg was sacked 7 times while Lewan was given a hard time by Texans’ Mercilus, who sacked him three and a half times. After the game, Lewan admitted to having one of the worst displays in the game. The only downer to the Texans’ victory is the injury to Jadeveon Clowney.

NFL 2015 Week 7: Houston Texans at Miami Dolphins on Sunday, October 25, 1:00 PM, Sun Life Stadium

A one sided affair saw the Miami Dolphins thrash the Houston Texans 44-26 in a day that saw the Texan’s Arian Foster carried off the pitch with a torn Achilles. Though Arian has always been injured most of his playing career, he has a pretty great record that can’t be easily ignored and this is why he is one of the best in his game.

The day though was for the Dolphins that dominated much of the game and you can’t really blame the Texans, their play was outsmarted at every intersection and this is why the Dolphins emerged as the victors. Some might say that that was Arians last game but we are yet to see what results come from the doctors after he undergoes an MRI.This game saw the worst halftime score in this franchise history with the Texans trailing from a 40-0 deficit and they never recovered from this.

This is why it was mostly seen as a one sided affair even after the Dolphins managed to pull a startling score in the second half of the game for it to end at 44-26 which was a remarkable feat for them. We wish Arian all the best as he recovered and hope to see him play again.

NFL 2015 Week 6: Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, October 18, 1:00 PM, EverBank Field

The Houston Texans headed to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. Houston came into the game with a 1-4 record, as did the Jaguars. Both teams were all fighting for a win to keep their season from getting more dismal and also to make them be in a better position if they had to play the game at every kick off. At the end of the first quarter, the Texans were up 7-0. By halftime, the Texans led 10-7. By the end of the third quarter, Jacksonville had taken the lead and was up 14-10. However, by the end of the fourth quarter, the Texans had taken the lead for good, and the final score was 31-20.

Both quarterbacks stayed pretty even during this match up. Brian Hoyer of the Texans had a total of 293 yards and three touchdowns. He also completed 24 of his 36 throws during the game. Blake Bortles had a total of 331 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also completed 30 of his 53 attempts during the game. The leading rusher for the Texans was Foster, and the lead receiver was Hopkins with two touchdown receptions. The leading rusher for the Jaguars was Bortles, the quarterback. The top two receivers for the Jaguars, Walters and Robinson, had similar games, with more than 85 yards receiving each, with Robinson also having one touchdown reception.

NFL 2015 Week 5: Houston Texans vs Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, October 08, 8:25 PM, NRG Stadium

Andre Johnson and Matt Hasselback were the men of the moment for the Colts. Johnson captured two critical touchdown passes from Matt Hasselback to help win the match at the scoreline of 27-20. Hasselback on his Part was filling in for Andrew Luck who was down with a Shoulder Injury. Both aged Men performed incredibly beyond expectations and Hasselback was more impressive considering the fact that he was hospitalized the week the Match was played. With this Victory, the Colts extended their AFC South winning streak to a NFL record Sixteen games. The longest ever since the 1972-73 Season. In the 1st Quarter, the Colt went ahead as far as 10-0 against the bewildered Texans.

However the Texans managed to get back in the game in the 2nd Quarter scoring 10 unanswered points. In the 3rd Quarter, Frank Gore scored a run on the Indianapolis Colts giving them a 10 point advantage over the Houston Texans. However, the Texans did not allow the 3rd Quarter to pass before making a robust response bringing the scoreline to 20-17.

Andrew Jonson struck in the fourth quarter to make the tally 27-17. The Texans were able to mobilize and respond with a Novak Field Goal bringing the final scoreline to 27-20 for the day.

NFL 2015 Week 4: Houston Texans at Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, October 04, 1:00 PM, Georgia Dome

The Houston Texans went down 1-3 after they were throttled by the Atlanta Falcons. This game has been described by many as the most humiliating defeat for the Texans. It was mostly dominated by the Falcons who took advantage of the missing team work in Texans’ team to stay on top of the game.

The Texans on the other hand had an unfortunate day in the field with some of their players experiencing injuries that would see them leave the game. Despite the presence of the best players such as Cushing, Watt, Clowney, and Wilfork, the missing team link always gave the Falcons an upper hand. They were able to effectively neutralize these players by double-teaming and triple-teaming them making it impossible for them to score. The Texans offense has also been faulted for being too complicated for the players hence the inability to be effective or deliver.

The Texans loss has left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth including the coach who personally took the blame for the terrible performance by his team. However, it is hoped that the team will have learnt its mistakes before the next game and avoid yet another humiliating event.

NFL 2015 Week 3: Houston Texans vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, September 27, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

Houston Texans were not looking promising with a 0-2 record. On September 28th, the Houston Texans were host to the Buccaneers pulling out a fantastic week 3. Ryan Mallett helped the Texans win their first win of the season, 19-9 over Tampa Bay on home soil. Ryan Mallett pulled out a threw for threw for 228 years plus a touchdown, while Alfred Blue rushing for a score to the lead the Texans had a 139 yards.

Mallett ended up giving Houston (1-2) their lead with a 5-yard pass to DeAndre Hopkins. Second quarter, Buccaneers went up 9-7 on a touchdown reception by Charles Sims that came after an interception by Mallet, but did not score again. The end game gives the Houston Texan Fans exactly what was needed for this NFL season a win finally early on in the season. As a final note, the Texans still did not have LT Duane Brown (hand) in the game. Second longest field-goal in franchise history goes to Brindza’s 58-yarder. Though Tampa Bay LB Lavonte David did have 14 tackles.

The Texans stadium has officially changed to Astro Turf for Sunday’s game after 13 straight years of using natural grass. Fans went quickly to Social Media sites shortly after the Texans win posting their excitement and posting how the game was the best of the year for the Texans thus far.

NFL 2015 Week 2: Houston Texans at Carolina Panthers on Sunday, September 20, 1:00 PM, Bank of America Stadium

This game wasn’t really close, the Panthers had the game pretty well under control, even after the Texans went up 3-0 in the first quarter, the only time they would lead in this game, although, they would tie up the game in the middle of the third quarter.

After putting together a decent fourth quarter performance in week 1’s loss to the Chiefs, Ryan Mallett got the start in this game. He threw for 244 yards, one touchdown and one interception; he even rushed for a touchdown, that cut the Panthers’ lead down to only seven, coming on fourth down. He went 0-14 and threw an interception under pressure.

Cam Newton, in the second game of his fifth NFL season threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns on 18 completions and rushed for 76 yards and had a rushing touchdown that gave Carolina a 17-10 lead in the third quarter. Cam capitalized on a turnover in the fourth quarter, throwing one of his touchdown passes.

The Texans trailed 10-3 at the half but, wound up putting 14 points on the board. It wasn’t enough to beat the Panthers. They had an opportunity to tie the game late in the game, after blocking a field goal, but they could not convert on fourth-and-16 in the red zone.

NFL 2015 Week 1: Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, September 13, 1:00 PM, NRG Stadium

The Kansas City Chiefs opened the 2015-16 season with a 27-20 victory over the Houston Texans. The Chiefs jumped to a 27-9 lead, then held off a late 11 pt charge by the Texans during the fourth quarter to win the game. Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith ended the game with 243 yards and 3 touchdowns, the first two touchdown passes going to Travis Kelce. Houston’s quarterback, Brian Hoyer went 18-34, throwing for 234 yards, one interception, one touchdown before being replaced by Ryan Mallett with 6 minutes to go in the game. Houston Coach BIll O’Brien refused to confirm whether or not Hoyer would be the starter in next week’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

On the defensive side of the ball, linebacker Brian Cushing lead the Texans with 10 tackles, followed by J.J. Watt who had 9 tackles, six of them for losses. Most eyes were on Jadaveon Clowney, last years top overall pick, who was making his first appearance since being hurt last December. Clowney did not start and was used primarily in 3rd down situations. He ended the day with a total of 4 tackles. The Chiefs were led defensively by Allen Bailey who racked up 5 sacks and recovered a fumble.

Houston Texans’ 2014 NFL season

Last season, the Houston Texans were able to play a very credible defensive scheme that they definitely needed given the trouble that they had with the offense. J.J. Watt was so dominant as a defensive end, you actually have people presuming that he will be the MVP.

The inconsistent play/injuries of Ryan Fitzpatrick/Ryan Mallet makes it even more remarkable that the Texans were able to finish 9-7. It was certainly a good thing for Andre Johnson to buy into the offensive system of head coach Bill O’Brien. The Texans must improve their secondary, if they truly expect to compete with the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC South.

NFL 2014 Week 17: Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, December 28, 1:00 PM, Reliant Stadium

The Houston Texans entered Sunday’s game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars with a chance to still make the playoffs. They had to beat the Jaguars and Baltimore had to lose. Houston came out slow as Jacksonville took an early lead when Dwayne Gratz intercepted Houston quarterback Case Keenum and returned it for a touchdown. J.J. Watt and the Texans defense took over after that. Watt ended the day with three sacks, a saftey and a forced fumble. His three sacks gives him 20.5 on the season making him the first player ever to have two seasons of 20 or more sacks. Keenum eventually settled down and threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns. Texans receiver Andre Johnson had a big day with ten receptions for 134 yards and a touchdown.

Jacksonville took the lead in the third quarter after a Keenum fumble. The next play Blake Bortles pitched the ball to Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts who threw a 23-yard touchdown to running back Jordan Todman. Overall though, the Jacksonville offense struggled, and with the game on the line Cecil Shorts could not keep his feet in bounds on a fourth down pass from Bortles. J.J. Watt will be receiving a lot of MVP votes in the off season and if he wins, would be the first defensive player to do so since Lawrence Taylor in 1986.

NFL 2014 Week 16: Houston Texans vs Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, December 21, 1:00 PM, Reliant Stadium

The Baltimore Ravens simply did not play like a playoff team. They were not able to block defensive end J.J. Watt at all. You have to question whether the Ravens truly know where to go with their check down plays after a game like this where Joe Flacco threw so many interceptions. The Ravens have to attempt to develop a better short yardage passing game, given the inconsistency that is tied to their running game. The Texans have to be proud of the way Arian Foster played in the game, they knew going in that Case Keenum wasn’t comfortable with the entire playbook yet. Andre Johnson did have six catches in the game and you could also see Keenum begin to develop a good working relationship with DeAndre Hopkins.

Fitzgerald Toussaint had to give the Ravens more in the running game, but there was one play during the game where he was thrown for a nine yard loss. The truth of the matter is that Arian Foster was able to make Case Keenum’s play action passes much more effective. The Ravens were largely getting manhandled in the trenches. Steve Smith Sr. was able to make a few plays, but he was largely stifled by D.J. Swearinger on the outside. The Ravens were not able to overcome all of these factors, losing the game by a 25-13 score. The six field goals by Randy Bullock made a huge difference.

NFL 2014 Week 15: Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, December 14, 1:00 PM, Lucas Oil Stadium

The Houston Texans went down 10-17 on the road to the Indianapolis Colts in a match that had playoff implications for both teams. The Texans remotest chances of making it to the playoffs seem to have gone up in smoke. As for the Colts, this only means that their playoff berth is beckoning with only two games left. The Texans began explosively, taking the first quarter 7-0. However, that was as far as they could get. They horribly lost the second quarter 14-0, drawing 0-0 and 3-3 in the third and fourth quarters respectively.

The victory was sweet for the Colts. It sealed their playoff berth, placing them top of their AFC South division. This was their fourth straight win and in their current form, it was always going to be difficult for the Texans to get anything out of the game. This was great for Reggie Wayne as it was his second franchise record. The victory was courtesy of two touchdown throws from Andrew Luck and an Adam Vinatieri’s field goal. The Colts’ defense then locked down the Texans offense, keeping them at bay for the victory.

NFL 2014 Week 14: Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, December 07, 1:00 PM, EverBank Field

It was unfortunate for the home team as they recorded a loss against Houston Texans. The match ended at a final score of 27-13 giving Houston Texans the victory.

In the first quarter, the Texans scored 3 points while the Jacksonville Jaguars scored 7 points. The home team definitely gave it their all in that first quarter. In the second quarter, the Texans recovered by scoring a point higher than the Jaguars. The Texans scored 7 points while Jaguars scored 6 points concluding the first half. The score up to there was 13-10 with the home team leading that score sheet.

Things however turned for the Jaguars when they came back to the second and final half of the game. This is because they did not record any score until the final whistle was blown. Texans on the other hand came to that half to win the game in style. They scored 7 points in the third quarter and 10 points in the last quarter. This brought an overall score of 27-13. What happened to the Jaguars was unknown but they lost their touch in that second half.

B. Bortles of Jaguars passed over 205 yards with 1 touchdown and one interception. M. Lewis of the same team recorded 3 receives over 69 yards. A. Foster of the Texans recorded 24 carries over 127 yards and 1 touchdown.

NFL 2014 Week 13: Houston Texans vs Tennessee Titans on Sunday, November 30, 1:00 PM, Reliant Stadium

Houston started the game fast and never looked back. The Texans scored the first twenty-four points of the game and coasted to a needed victory. The star of; the game for the Texans was their defense as they accounted for four turnovers and three sacks. The Titans have given up 88 points over the last two weeks.

Houston’s top offensive player is quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. The veteran quarterback was replaced, then asked to comeback and start this game. He made the most of his chance to play as he threw six touchdown passes and no interceptions. Fitzpatrick’s top target was DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins caught nine passes for 238 yards and caught two of Fitzpatrick’s touchdown passes. Arian Foster gave his usual performance as he carried the ball nineteen times for seventy-nine yards. The running back also caught five passes for twenty six yards and a touchdown. Possible league MVP J.J. Watt caught one pass for a yard and a touchdown.

Tennessee’s quarterbacks threw three interceptions. They did throw two touchdowns. The main receiver of the day was Kendall Wright. The receiver caught seven passes for 132 yards and one touchdown. Nate Washington also caught a touchdown pass, and accounted for sixty-one yards. The top rusher for the Titans was Bishop Sankey, whom ran for forty-two yards.

Houston is playing the Jaguars in Jacksonville. The Texans are playing for their playoff lives as they need a victory to stay in the hunt. Tennessee is play the NY Giants at home. The game is for pride as the two teams have a combined win total of five.

NFL 2014 Week 12: Houston Texans vs Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, November 23, 1:00 PM, Reliant Stadium

Andy Dalton finally was on the winning side after a match having lost his previous three games against the Huston Texans. He was in no mood to loose again this time round as he threw for 233 and touched down once while leading the Bengals to best the Texans 22-13. This win was more special for him as it was on his father’s 55th birthday. The Bengals second win in two maintained first place in the AFC. It was also Dalton’s second successive strong game again relying on a fit A.J. Green who dealt with a toe injury. Green finished the game with 12 for 121 yards a career high later claiming that he felt in synch with the offense players.

Texans J.J. Watt was quoted saying that the Bengals strong performance was as a result of their ability to get the ball off their hands at lightning pace which left them helpless. On a individual fetes achieved the Houston’s wide receiver Andre Johnson had three receptions, passing Randy Moss for 10th in the all time list. Unfortunately right tackle Andre Smith injured his left bicep early on in the first-half and didn’t return.

NFL 2014 Week 11: Houston Texans at Cleveland Browns on Sunday, November 16, 1:00 PM, FirstEnergy Stadium

At the start of this game the Cleveland was in first place of the AFC North, but they needed to win to stay at their spot in the standings. Houston needed to win this game to keep their playoff chances alive. Houston took the field and defeated the Browns easily. The Texans scored first, the Browns tied the score half way through the second quarter with their only touchdown of the game. The rest of the game was a complete domination by the Texans.

The Texans were led by running back Alfred Blue. He ran for 156 yards and no touchdowns. Quarterback Ryan Mallett got the start over Ryan Fitzpatrick and played in his first start. He threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns. The only blemish on a relatively good start, Mallett had the ball intercepted once. Defensive Lineman and possible NFL MVP J.J. Watt also caught a pass for a touchdown.

The Cleveland Browns Quarterback Brian Hoyer played well. The quarterback threw for 330 yards, one touchdown and he threw an interception. Two receivers Andrew Hawkins and Taylor Gabriel were the top receivers for Cleveland. Hawkins scored the only touchdown pass.

Cleveland needs a bounce back game and they may get that as they are playing the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta. Houston is playing at home against Cincinnati in a game that may have playoff implications.

NFL 2014 Week 9: Houston Texans vs Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, November 02, 1:00 PM, Reliant Stadium

QB Mark Sanchez led the Philadelphia Eagles (6-3) to a 31-21 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday. Sanchez, who hasn’t played since 2012, came in late in the first quarter after starting QB Nick Foles injured his left shoulder. He overcame two turnovers to finish 15-22 with 202 yards and two touchdowns and two interceptions. Jeremy Maclin was a key part in Sanchez’s successful Eagles debut with 158 yards and two touchdowns on six receptions. The Texans (4-5) were without linebackers Brian Cushing and Jadeveon Clowney, but still managed to put pressure on the quarterback, registering four sacks in the first quarter.

JJ Watt had 1.5 sacks, while linebacker Whitney Mercilus had two sacks, the second of which injured Foles. They also lost their two starting cornerbacks Kareem Jackson and Johnathon Joseph to injury in the first quarter. Eagles running back LeSean McCoy had 117 yards, while his opposing counterpart, Arian Foster, finished with 56 yards and left late in the game with a groin injury. Philadelphia is now in first place in the NFC East, with a half game lead over Dallas. The Texans fell a game below .500 and two games behind Indianapolis for first place in the AFC South.

NFL 2014 Week 8: Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans on Sunday, October 26, 1:00 PM, LP Field

Houston Texans thrashed the Tennessee Titans 30-16 to record a win in the NFL’s 200th game to record a fourth win in five games over their arch rivals. Arian foster topped 100 yards rushing for the fourth straight game, the first time in his career after running for 151 yards and then two touchdowns and also a score from a pass he caught.

This remarkable performance was Foster’s 100-yard rushing game equaling Priest Holmes record for the most by a player who is not drafted in NFL history.

Jadeveon Clowney, Texans linebacker played mostly in passing situations even though it was his first game since he hurt his knee in the season opener and finished with one tackle.

Zach Mettenberger, Titans rookie quarterback ended the game with 299 yards passing and two touchdowns after he turned the ball over twice.

Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt expressed his disappointment with the result after the game by stating none of his players gave up despite the tough time they were facing even though then didn’t win.

Foster was the star of the day as he escaped a 34-yard TD and cut back to his right to outrace the Titans to the pylon in the first half with only 6:00 left to end it with a 13-3 lead for his side.He scored on a 1-yard run in the third quarter after catching a 5-yard TD pass that he had set up with a 43-yard run.

NFL 2014 Week 7: Houston Texans at Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday, October 20, 8:30 PM, Heinz Field

Monday night was a big night for the two teams in this game. Houston and Pittsburgh had three wins and needed a win to stay competitive in their divisions. The Houston Texans started the game out fast taking a Thirteen point lead. The Texans defense was controlling Pittsburgh offense until late in the second quarter. With about five minutes left in the first half the Steelers scored twenty-four straight points to take the lead for good. The first half was dominated by the Texans, the team did not turn over the ball as well as giving up a sack. The Steelers also scored on a trick play, Antonio Brown threw a touchdown pass to Lance Moore for the lead.

The Steelers top running back LeVeon Bell scored a touchdown and accounted for 145 total yards. Brown also caught nine passes for ninety yards. The Texans top running back Arian Foster scored a touchdown and accounted one-hundred fifteen total yards. The Texans top receiver for the game DeAndre Hopkins caught six passes for one-hundred-eight yards. Houston plays Tennessee in an important AFC South divisional match up. Pittsburgh is playing Indianapolis at home for a key AFC contest.

NFL 2014 Week 6: Houston Texans vs Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, October 09, 8:25 PM, Reliant Stadium

What started off as a rout ended up to be a surprisingly dramatic game as the Texans rallied from 24 points behind, only to lose 33-28. That score doesn’t do justice to the ridiculous first quarter enjoyed by the Colts and, most notably, T.Y. Hilton.

Hilton ended the evening with 223 yards on 9 catches. That, however, doesn’t begin to do justice to the first quarter numbers for the star receiver, as he flew past 100 yards in only one quarter of play. Hilton also tacked on a touchdown, making him the star for anyone playing fantasy football.

This win puts the Colts alone atop their division with a 4-2 record. Their defense is still a question mark, though, seeing as the Texans had little difficulty putting points on the board. That side of the ball will have to step up as the Colts look forward to the postseason.

For the Texans, J.J. Watt is still making huge plays on defense. He had 7 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 deflections, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. In the NFL, there are very few defensive play makers like J.J. Watt. Arian Foster contributed 109 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns, and Ryan Fitzpatrick was serviceable with 212 yards passing and a touchdown with no interceptions.

NFL 2014 Week 5: Houston Texans at Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, October 05, 1:00 PM, AT&T Stadium

The Dallas Cowboys narrowly defeated the Houston Texans after Dan Bailey nailed the game winning field goal from 49 yards out in OT. Bailey was given the chance to redeem himself after missing a 53 year field goal on the final play of regulation (which snapped his record of 30 consecutive field goals) thanks in part to Dez Bryant reeling in what some consider to be the play of the game. This is the fourth straight win for Dallas and the first time they have done so since 2011. Dallas now resides comfortably at 4-1 and is tied for first in their division with Philadelphia.

Although Dan Bailey was the hero of the game, DeMarco Murray, Dez Bryant, and Tony Romo all had outstanding games as well. Murray rushed for over 100 yards making this his fifth straight 100 yard game (causing him to be the NFL’s leading rusher with 670 yards) while Dez Bryant caught nine passes for 85 yards and a touchdown. Romo had some accuracy issues but finished 28 of 41 for 324 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Despite the loss, Houston played well too with J.J. Watt almost sacking Tony Romo before the Dez Bryant catch in OT and Arian Foster put up some big numbers with 23 carries for 157 yards and two touchdowns.

NFL 2014 Week 4: Houston Texans vs Buffalo Bills on Sunday, September 28, 1:00 PM, Reliant Stadium

Week 3, was the time when Buffaloes locked horns with Houston. This game was a fair reflection of two NFL teams with a long history of football rivalry. The game started on a low mark but eventually gained momentum and just after the first quarter mark, Buffaloes were at their best with a 10 points score. The defense of Buffalo bills gave the Houston Texans a very difficult moment during the last quarter of the first quarter of the game. However, Houston never accepting to lay down, J.J. Watt was the man who restored hope and glory to the wounded Houston Texans. This game changer was a remarkable turn point for the second quarter which saw the Houston Texans turn the game around with a lot of gusto to beat Buffalo Bills 23-17 from behind.

The Bill’s fans had a great game while they watched their first four display a remarkable action against their opponents. Overall, did an outstanding defense against Alfred Blue and Arian Foster. Daries Ducell was among the high ranking players amongst these first fours with a 3.69 grading. Signature play was well displayed by Daries again, who got better of Jones to tackle Arian in his one of the three stops in the backfield. Another outstanding performance was displayed by Aaron Williams who has been enjoying a great form since the start of the season. On the third quarter, Williams tackled J. Fiedorowic to prevent a first down. However, Sammy Watkins didn’t seem to put much energy into the game. His performance is not one he would like to talk about since it earned him a -2.3 rating.

Having earned a +11.4 grading last season, no one would ever think that J.J. Watt would replicate the same kind of form this season as it was portrayed last Sunday at Houston. Watt had a good time beating Erick Pears twice to give his side a match winning display. The +13.5 grading was hard earned by tailing fifteen pressures and hitting nine times. Leodis McKelvin and Ryan J. Fiedorowic were other players who stepped up to the game when needed especially during the second quarter. Jonathan Joseph experienced a tough day having been targeted 10 times.

NFL 2014 Week 3: Houston Texans at New York Giants on Sunday, September 21, 1:00 PM, MetLife Stadium

Visiting New York Giants smacked their hosts, the Houston Texans 30-17 to avoid a 0-3 start to the season. The game, played at the Met Life Stadium, Rutherford, New Jersey, saw the hosts trail the visitors 0-14 by the end of the second quarter. After holding out a 0-0 scoreline in the first quarter, the visitors seemed to have found confidence and inspiration to torment their hosts in the second quarter, going up 0-14 without reply. However, the story was different in the third quarter as the hosts seemed to have woken up from slumber. They rallied to beat the Giants 10-3. This was not enough to give them victory though. In the last quarter, they lost 7-13 to the Giants. It was a very closely fought quarter, with the Texans giving their all against the Giants, to whom they eventually surrendered 17-30 after the final whistle.

The Texans would have recorded 3-0 this season, had they not lost the match. The Giants desperately needed this victory as they had lost all their first two games. The victory was very crucial, and they will be seeking to keep the momentum going into week four. The Texans made some unnecessary mistakes that gifted the Giants the victory, and they have to fix them in time for their next game.

NFL 2014 Week 2: Houston Texans at Oakland Raiders on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 4:25pm, O.co Coliseum

On Sunday, 14th September this year Houston Texans beat Oakland Raiders 30-14 making it their second straight win this season. The game was played at O.co Coliseum stadium, Oakland, California and it started at 4:25 PM. Watts stood out during the whole game despite his usual defensive position. He started by giving Houston Texans a 2 point lead. Arian Foster was also on form as he scored and ran 138 yards.

Raiders made several mistakes in the scoring territory. In the second quarter Oakland’s Carr made a good 41 yard run only to lose the ball to Kareem Jackson who eventually set up another player, Randy Bullock, for a goal. Fitzpatrick was also instrumental for Houston in third quarter. He was set up by Joseph and DeAndre Hopkins making it 24-0. I almost forgot Foster’s contribution; he made the movement of the ball down the field smooth by making 40 to 100 yard runs. With his 5 yard run he put Houston’s on a 14 – 0 lead.

Lastly, Raider’s defense was in ruins just as in their last game. Their offensive line was also rendered ineffective the entire game. Even the gifted Derek Carr didn’t make any impact as he could not get comfortable with the ball.

NFL 2014 Week 1: Houston Texans vs Washington Redskins on Sunday, September 7, 1:00 PM, Reliant Stadium

Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas was the site of a low-scoring affair on Sunday, September 7, at Noon, between the Washington Redskins and the Houston Texans. A dull first quarter had most wondering when the game would really take off, when a blistering 76-yard punt return by DeAndre Hopkins gave the Texans the lead. Top rookie tip Alfred Blue blocked a punt later in the quarter, picked it up, and ran in for a touchdown, cementing the Texan’s lead further before the end of the half.

Washington showed some real signs of fighting back, with Robert Griffin III throwing for 267 yards by the end of the day. The Redskins couldn’t make anything last because of turnovers, giving the ball away twice to fumbles in the second half.

The Houston Texans didn’t need to do much to beat the Redskins this Sunday, and had a pretty tame offensive attack with only 206 passing yards, and Arian Foster running for 103 yards, a great figure for him, coming back from back surgery. With special teams play like they had from Hopkins and Alfred Blue, their offense didn’t need to do much except hold onto the ball.

The second half didn’t have any of the excitement of the first, with the only drama coming from the two Redskins fumbles, and the only score coming courtesy of a field goal from Houston Texans kicker Randy Bullock.

New signings showed some of their potential, with J.J. Watt, recently signed to a massive six-year, hundred-million dollar deal, having a great game with a sack, a PAT block and a fumble recovery. Draft pick Jadeveon Clowney showed some promise in the first half, with a great tackle for a loss, before coming off thanks to injury. There wasn’t much information on the injury on Sunday, with no one even sure what had caused the knock. More recently, it’s been revealed that he’ll need knee surgery, and be out four to six weeks.

After a mild afternoon with both sides struggling to string together good drives, but with some real excitement in the special teams action, the score line ended with the Texans winning comfortably, 17-6. The Redskins will follow on this coming Sunday, September 14, with a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, while the Texans will be visiting Oakland for a game that will surely test Houston’s run defense. The Redskins will hope to revitalize their offense against a Jacksonville team that has struggled to move the ball downfield.

2013 was quite undoubtedly the most underwhelming season for the Houston Texans

After two consecutive seasons that led to two AFC south championships and involved two heartbreaking losses in the divisional playoffs, the franchise was hoping to build on with a potential super bowl run and another division title. Experts and pundits alike predicted the return of a stronger than ever defense, bolstered by the addition of Deandre Hopkins and the return of J.J. Watt who was the defensive player of the year. It was well put that these two would strengthen the defense and give the offense a boost they so much needed to get to the next level. 2013 was supposed to be the year for this franchise to come out and make a statement establishing themselves as title contenders. However, what would ensue is a surprising turn of events that not even the most experienced of experts would have predicted.

They began their preseason without Arian Foster who was out due to a back injury. That would be only one of the several injuries that were to plague their starting line up throughout the season. Ben Tate, Foster’s replacement would also be placed on injury reserve after 8 weeks of playing with a broken rib. Later in the season, defensive pair Danieal Manning and Brian Cushing would also be out due to injury. The offensive line showed great underperformance with Matt Schaub who was tipped to lead them to world championship struggling most of the season.

Week 1’s comeback against San Diego Chargers and a week two win over Tennessee Titans were quickly followed by a disappointing 11 week losing streak against; Ravens (9:30), Seahawks (23:20), 49ers (3:34), Rams (38:13), Chiefs (16:17), Colts (27:24), Cardinals (27:24), Raiders (28:23), Jaguars (13:6), Patriots (34:31) and Jaguars (20:27).

With an underwhelming performance, in week 6, Schaub was replaced by T.J. Yates who also followed up with disappointing performance. Even with good enough performance to prove his worth, and backing by owner Bob McNair, Case Keenum could not change the Texans fate. It was a case of Murphy’s Law at work.

Head coach Gary Kubiak was fired after the loss to the Jaguars in week 14, handing over the reins to defensive coach Wade Phillips. It was however too late with the Texans losing their last 3 games leading to the worst franchise record since 2005.

Despite this disappointing season, they managed a first overall pick in this year’s NFL draft with a new head coach in Bill O’Brien. Matt Schaub and Arian Foster are set to be unloaded to pave way for better performing free agents. The Texans have also set their sights on Teddy Bridgewater, Jadaveon Clowney, and Johnny Football among others to bring in renewed excitement and fresh spirits to strengthen themselves for post season title contention.
